Getting Started!

Today is Friday 28Th - I have looked at various profiles on here as well as completed extensive research regarding WLS.  The more I learned the more excited I became, nonetheless, I felt overwhelmed about dealing with the insurance company (UHC) after my first conversation with them.  It was almost like I did not want to be rejected, so I stopped looking into WLS for about a year.  In my professional life and personal, I deal with rejection and obstacles all the time.  I guess the prospect of a tool that could solve my weight management / health concerns was so huge to me, it gave me hope, I did not want that to be dashed.  It was almost easier to keep hope alive by thinking one day....one day.... rather than NO... DENIED... 

I came across a WL program through Cedar Sinai Hospital.  They a meeting once a month that I passed up for two months.  Finally I registered for the May 24Th class.  I was so scared when I was sitting int he parking lot, I almost did not go in., but I did.  I was so happy that I did.    They told us about their program for WLS and also if for some reason the insurance denied us they also had a weight management program.  I felt so relieved.  I tried it on my own, with my husband, with friends, my doctor, purchased programs, but never a all in no joke WLS and/or medically governed options.  OK... now either way I feel I have a better chance to win this time. 

I completed the questionnaire and received a call two days later with an appointment for the Dr. consultation.  It is set for June 2ND.  We will see what happens.  I am going to blog the whole thing good bad or disappointing.  I am optimistic...
