C. Kenneth Mitchell, Jr.

"My first impression of Dr Mitchell? Before he even opened his mouth to talk, I sensed compassion. rnrnMy impression never changed, only added. He is the only surgeon I have ever met that truly cares about his patients.rnrnHis office staff is fantastic and quick to assist and very comforting.rnrnIf there was something that I least like, it's that he's so popular that he's spread thin. I almost feel protective about him, as if no one else can possible be better than Dr MitchellrnrnFuture patients should know that he's honest, upfront, kind, compassionate and his PA Brett is AWESOME and tells it like it is. They are very upfront about the risks and even explain in detail what they do, down to (in my case) when I had to loose weight because my abdomen wall was too thick. The showed me/ told me that when they put the air tube in to inflate so they can get to the stomach, there wouldn't be enough room to work with. rnAlso, future patients should know that Dr Mitchell will do EVERYTHING in his power on a Ruen Y, to do it lap. He goes beyond and keeps trying even if it means the surgery takes longer.rnrnAftercare? When you first become a patient and start up he has you sign an agreement that also covers aftercare of what he expects from you. Your signing this agreement says you will do what he requests of you. There is a lot of care that goes into the aftercare with this office.rnrnDr Mitchell and his PA Brett's surgical competence are just impressive. I'd like to give an example of bedside manner. I had a complication with my G-tube (it came out of the stomach). I didn't know at the time and was in the ER withint 5 days of being released from post op. It's 3am in the morning and rather than having the Doctor on call or Surgeon on call (which their was one), Dr. Mitchell came up to the ER at 3am with bloodshot eyes and all JUST to tell me what he thought the problem was based on the CT scan and what we were going to do. At 7am, I had been admitted back into the hostpial and was in a room on ISU ward waiting for a bariatric room to open up. There was Dr. Mitchell, only 4 hours later, back up at the hospital with me. No the Surgeon on call, not the Doctor on call but both Brett and Dr. Mitchell (on a gorgeous Saturday morning)rn"
