Hello All!
My name is Linda and I live in the middle of North Dakota. I am 49 years old, married with 2 grown sons and 2 of the most beautiful grandsons you would ever want to see...well...besides your own of course!!! LOL.
I had gastric bypass surgery in Salt Lake City in 2000. It was the most horrible and wonderful thing I had done for myself. Horrible because I was so sick for the first 4 months after and then wonderful because the weight loss gave me my life back. I had been over 300 pounds for several years when I had the surgery and my quality of life had been greatly deminished because of it. After the surgery I went through all the wonder and discovery of regaining that quality and it was awsome.
I kept my weight off for the first 5 years with very little regain. I gained about 15 pounds back and if I regained over that it would mostly just fall right back off.
Then in 04 my Dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. In 05 my younger brother was also diagnosed with Non-Hogkins Lymphoma. He was gone in 5 weeks. Just after he died I had a complete hysterectomy and my husband and I made a major move leaving my sons and grandsons in North Dakota. Just after that my Dad died.
Needless to say...once my Dad died and all the craziness was finally over...well...the craziness really kicked in!!! I went into a major depression...not to mention menapause...and I just started gaining weight...just like that! My weight finally stabalized at about a 70 pound regain and it has sat there for the last 3 years.
Well...due to my husbands job playing out down in Texas...we are back in North Dakota....and I have decided to see what I can do about this weight thing. My sister is in the process of weight loss surgery and told me about this site and I am very glad to be here...Linda
