Day 1

Aug 22, 2012

Ok, really day 4. I spoke with my Cousin who had GBS about 3 years ago. Up days and down days, however over all success. About 150lbs down. Decided it was time to talk with my ARNP BEFORE she tells me that I have diabetes as well as my already fatty liver. Diets, guess what. They didn't work for me. I just became ugly and irritable and not fun to be around. This summer I have actually gone out and walked at least 3x a week. I have eaten fresh veggies straight from the garde, no butter. A little balsamic vinegar and a touch of salt. I have lost 2lbs. Enough already.

When I asked my ARNP about the surgery, she looked surprised and a little skeptical. 'You know, this is not an easy process.' I get that. I have talked with people and found out from their owns mouths what goes on in their heads. But I have support, I have want, and most importantly I have need!! I am tired of being the big girl. I want my body to reflect my mind. Young and fun!!

I go for the initial informative session at DHC on 09/07/12. Very excited. A little stumped about the $250.00 registration fee once I am signed up, but I guess where there is a will, there is a way.

Good thing I have been cutting down on my smoking this summer. Can't do that anymore. But what would be the sense in still smoking if I am trying to get healthy?? NONE. Ok, there's my answer. Be done.

I am ready for this journey.
