Hey guys
I am just giving an update. Well on 2/3/08 I was officailly 1 month out. I havent had any complications THANK YOU JESUS!!!
I have lost 38 lbs (down to 299 lbs) in 1 month but now my weight loss is slowing down big time. My doctor is very pleased however. He said people only lose about 20 lbs their 1st month. I am getting discouraged but I know its a journey. I didnt put it on overnite so it wont come off overnite. I am having a hard time getting the protein in and I am worried because I dont wanna lose my hair but none has came out yet. So so far so good. I definately know I need to kick up the exercise. Anyways I was just giving you guys an update.

2 WEEK POST OP DR VISIT

Well I went to my 2 week post-op appointment on Wed 1/16/08 and I have lost 30lbs. Dr. Khun was very pleased with my weight lost and said most people do that in a month not 2 weeks. He believes that it is water weight. I dont know when the weight loss will slow down but I'm keep doing everything I can to keep it going. I'm now on Stage II diet and am trying new foods. All my foods are staying down but I am having a hard time telling when I am full or if I have streched my pouch. My dieteician stated if I was throwing up after eating then that could be a sign and that could do damage to the pouch. I am getting better and telling when I am full though. She believes I am not eating enough so I''m trying to eat a little more but I dont want to hurt or damage anything. I am feeling better and getting stronger everyday! Hopefully I will return to my full-time job this Wed. half a day and progress to all day. Anyways this is a quick update. I'm getting tired and sleepy.

Hey all
Just giving an update. Surgery went pretty well & I was released the next day. The Dr told me he expects me to lose weight really really fast. I've already lost 18 lbs. Nights are hard for me to sleep more than 2hrs at a time. I feel a lil better. Sometimes I have pain or tenderness in my stomach but pain meds help. My mom, family, & friends have really helped me out. I was just doing a lil blog to give a quick update. I'll give more info when I'm more up to it.

THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY!!

Well tonight (1/2/08) is the night before surgery. I'm having pre-surgery jitters!! A million things are running through my mind? Will I be ok during surgery? I dont wanna stay overnight at the hospital. Did I try everything I could to lose? How will I look? What will people say? I dont know I know in my heart I've tried all I could to lose weight and nothing has kept it off. I've never had surgery and am worried about that process. I know this will be a life changing journey & I need to get ready. I need to go to bed. Hopefully I will soon. Take care everyone. Peace & Blessings..

Today (12/31/07) I was on the phone all morning with Blue Cross Blue Shield trying to get my lap-band now changed to a gastric bypass. Some reps were more helpful than others but I ultimately ended up getting APPROVED for gastric bypass. Some of the reps were really nice & helpful. They faxed the paperwork over to Dr.Kuhn's office & everything is a go for my surgery that will be on 1/3/08. I had been asking if I needed to do a pre-op diet and everyone was telling me no. Then on Friday I spoke to the physician assistant & she said it would be helpful to start one. Im like UUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!! I kept asking and everyone said no now the last time I asked she said yes. So I've been trying to hang in there with that. Pray for me. Just wanted to give an update. Im getting nervous. Trying to stay healthy for the surgery.

Lap band changed to bypass

The doctors office called me back & said due to my Upper GI test shows I have acid reflux and swallows slow. The Dr office is acting like my surgery may be postponed or changed to a bypass. Has anyone ever heard that if u have acid reflux or Upper GI problems you cant get lap-band? I'm so discouraged I dont know what to do. Surgery schedule for Jan 3. Any advice is welcomed.
