I am the mother of two children. I had found myself not wanting to go out of the house because the way I felt people looked at me. I was 240 pounds at only 5'3! I was squeezing into clothes that did not fit because I was embarrassed about the size. I went to my DR on the AFB and asked to be considered for gastric bypass. He told me that I met the requirements and that he would put in for my appointment. I was super excited. the process from start until surgery date was about 2 1/2 months. After surgery I feel like another person! I go out shopping and even go out to eat with my husband. This surgery has changed my life for the better. I do remember during the few days after surgery however, when I said over and over I wish I did not have the surgery. Mainly because the pain would get so bad. However, right now I am 3 months out and I am doing really well.
