RNY CORRECTIVE SURGERY
Nov 11, 2019
Ten years ago I had a gastric Sleeve. It has become medically necessary to have a Roux-En-Y. I had had nothing but worsening GERD since the sleeve. The new doctor says x-rays show an incorrect procedure and my stomach is dangerously close to my diaphragm and closing off my esophagus. Surgery is scheduled for Dec 4th of this year.
My problem is I am currently at a BMI of 29. If I lose 35 more pounds I will be a BMI of 24 which puts me in an underweight status.
I know my body, with 2 weeks clear fluids before and 1 week after surgery I will lose another 15 to 20 pounds minimum. If I lose a total of only 35 pounds I will be in the BMI 24 which puts me in the underweight category. When I had the sleeve I lost 115 Lbs in one year.
Any suggestions on how "NOT" lose to much weight and do it healthfully.
Thanks for any help.
