Hello Everyone
My name is carmen and I had the gatric bypas surgery in december of 2010 . So far it has been 4 month and I lost over 70lbs. I decided to have this surgery when I took my children to an amusment park and i could not fit on any of the rides because i was to big. Not knowing that my weight crept up on me I decided I needed to change the way i eat and live. My husband did not see no wrong in my weight but I felt like I let my family down cause i could not do the things that i use to do with them Like sports and going place i was so embarrassed to go clothes shopping and by things for myself cause I did not like the way I looked in clothes. I often chose to wear sweat pants and since i did not go anywear I was comfortable. Then I found myself sleeping alot cause i had no energy to do anything I cried myself to sleep hoping things would get better if I started to diet but that didn't work cause I was to tired to cook on some days and often order take out. But after the incident when I was at the amusement park and was told I could not fit thats whe I decided to change my life i made an appointment with my doctor and he reffered me to the best surgeon out in philadelphia to me. He listen to my goals and decided to start me in the program ON MY WAY TO A HEALTHY LIFE. I was in the program for 3 months and my surgery was scheduled for 12/14/2010 merry x-mas to me and also an early birthday present. Within those 3 months I was getting my blood work done going to fitness class and talking to a nutrition that help me with my eating habits to prepare me for the surgery with all beig said those 3 months went by quick. Since I had the surgery before x-mas i wasn't even hungry for the holiday feast plus I was on a liquid diet for the first month after surgery. I took my vitamins like i was suppose to but i lost some of my hair due to not being able to hold down the whey protien so I found other protien resources now it is the end of March time to get my next vitamin B12 shot from the doctor I lost so much weight so fast my close look like blankets on me now I can go shopping.
