"My first impression of Dr. Liu was very positive. I knew he was the one as soon as I saw him, before I even met him. He was exuding kindness, laughter, and a genuine sense of caring with other people in the office and that was just while I was signing in to be seen. My impression of him only got better. He always smiles and you can tell he enjoys what he does. He is not like other surgeons I met who had that "God" complex just because they are doctors. He truly wants to help people. The ENTIRE staff is WONDERFUL! The best part about the whole day on my first visit was that EVERYTHING was taken care of right in his office. I saw him, the nutritionist, the NP, the cardiologist, the lab tech, and had my chest x-ray done just a few steps away. Everyone is very kind and they don't give you that "You're fat so I have to be careful touching you" feeling. They are very gentle as well. Dr. Liu seems to be a little on the quiet side, BUT that could be because I tend to run my mouth a lot. :-) One of the biggest things that he and his staff are emphatic about regarding aftercare is first to make sure you follow the diet and secondly WALK, WALK, WALK, and WALK some more. His clinic at Century City Hospital was just beginning when I first saw him so they were still working out the kinks but it gets better every day. One of the first things I told the patient coordinator was to make sure they had the supersize gowns and his reply, "Already got 'em". They've got the scale that "WE" can get an accurate weight on. They're getting things in to make us comfortable. Dr. Liu is very forthcoming about ALL of the risks of surgery. He tells you the good and the bad because he wants his patients very well informed. I would rate him at the top and I can easily say that because he is not the only surgeon that I dealt with but he is the one I stopped at and finished my search. I literally put my life in his hands and trusted him to get me through it and that is exactly what he has done. Both his surgical competence and his bedside manner were perfect. As I said at the start, I wouldn't change a thing and knowing what I know now, I wouldn't go to anyone else. "
