New Hobbies and Scheduled Surgeon Consult

My husband took me to play golf this weekend, it was super fun and great exercise...the kind I like!!! It was great and I wasn't too bad! I think I would recommened this sport to anyone!
My surgeons office called me to schedule my appointment for thursday! I hope it goes well, because I just found out the my insurance co. (Coventry of GA: POS) rather my plan does not cover bariatric surgery of any kind nor does it cover any complications caused by the surgery if I have it done!!! That was very disappointing! I am still plugging forward hoping to find the money to have my surgery! Who knows what will happen?

Well I have found a surgeon that I trust...That is good!!! I also found out some new information I wasn't expecting to learn about. It is called the Gastric Sleeve! During the seminar, everyone shared there own scenarios and questions about the surgery's they thought they wanted to have. Not only me but almost everyone else had changed their minds about what type of surgery might be best for them at the end of seminar. Dr. Macik does 3 types of surgeries: Roux-n-Y, LapBand and Gastric Sleeve...I found the gastric sleeve the most interesting (probably b/c it is newer), never-the-less, it was recommended for my case of Chrohns, Malabsorption, PCOS, hyperlipidemia, and other ailments that i have going on...anyway, just wanted to share that I am one step closer to gettin gthis bariatric surgery I have been dreaming of for 3 years!

I am going to a seminar for the surgeon I believe I am going to use...He seems to know what he is doing and I have been researching and seen a couple of other doc's and I think this is the one I am going to use: Paul Macik, Md in Atlanta, Ga. My Nutritionist and GI specialist have told me he is really good and has had great results. I am getting excited and serious!!! Finally I am going to reverse my weight in a serious manner and I couldn't be happier! My husband is being very supportive and that has been even better! We will see what happens!
