3yrs update

Feb 26, 2011

well i am approaching my 3yrs anniversary, things have not been well, i have gained weight now weigh 178lbs, however just this morning i got up and decided to sign in on this site, it has  been a while (months). The first question in the Q&A was what happens when you start to gain weight.  Well I have been struggling with why I have gained, I know a couple of things are I have not worked out like i used to, and I can eat more things not quantity but the type of foods and not feel ill.  Well, while readng some of the answers today, all is not lost.  I read some of my prior blogs and just had an Aha moment that I eat to live and not live to eat....
I am starting over need to get back to daily exercise, getting rid of the junk foods that I have brought into my home, and back to staying in contact wtih the people that understand the struggle(OH on line help).  I am going on a trip with my mother and daughter in May to London and I want to have lost 15 lbs that I have gained. I still feel like the surgery was the best thing for me, I will not get back to where I was (plus I have to many clothes that fit to tight and do not need to buy anymore)
This is it for me today.

18 mos update

Sep 15, 2009

Well it has been a while since I have been on this page, i just  celebrated by 51st birthday and 18 months of having the RNY surgery.  Things are great, i am holding aroung 160, at one point I was down to 158 but I actually feel and look great.  I wear a size 8 from starting at size 22, so i truly thank God for this new life.  I still have a personal goal of 150 by my two year anniversay, but i really do not want to be any smaller than size 8.
I need to get back to working out regulary again, and taking my vitamins.  I truly watch what I eat and have embrace that I eat to live not live to  eat.
Life has dealt some losses since my last sign in My father passed away on 5-19-09 never really know how much you miss and need a person until they are gone, but i loved him dearly and so much so in my later years, not growing up with him was different but we had a special relationship as adults, i hope he knew how much I loved him.
Well it is late in the early morning one more day of vacation and then back to work.
Take care family and have a wonderful day.

one year Annversary

Mar 14, 2009

I just completed one year of this fabulous journey.  I am 12 lbs from my goal weight I have lost a total of 119lbs since I started this journey.  It has changed my life, I truly now eat to live.  Now I am concentratingon things I have always wanted to do, such as swimming, I took a belly dancing class which was great, I love shopping in the regular dept and I truly can say that I enjoy exercising.
This entire journey is truly a life change the surgery and the process that you should and must go thru really helped me to understand some things that were going on with me, and what could have been my issues with my weight, but thank God I am an overcomer.  I encourage anyone considering to make sure that you are ready to change your life and live a better healthier live to consider this journey.

6 mos progress

Sep 15, 2008

Well I have turned 50 yrs old, and I remember saying a year ago that I wanted to have the weight off by this time. I am  proud to say that has happen.
I went to Curves the day before my birthday and i actually had not weighted by self since I joined 3-27-08.  I got weighted and measured and the results were so gratifying.  I have dropped my weight down to 188 lost a total of 42 inches and most importantly i have lost 20% of body fat.

I feel great, i have finally gotten into a great work out system that i go to Curves 3 x per week and walk 4 x per week. I have drop down to a size 12 in most  things.  I feel WONDERFUL.

I am now dealing with the skin hanging, I know if I get this taken care of I would lose another 25 lbs or so.  I will work on that after the first of the year.

I will have my 6 mos check up on 9-23-08 with my surgeon and I expect great things.
I am so grateful to the God for the opportunity to have this done and I take it serious, I watch what I eat and make sure that I continue to work out for the rest of my life.

Well things are going  well, I finally made it under 200lbs I currently weight 189 lbs .  I will be celebrating my 50th birthday on Sept 12 and my goal is to hav lost  10 lbs by then.   I have not been exercising as faithfully as the past  but getting back on the track.  I have really gotten down eating slow and stoping when I am full.

I still have urges for salty food such as chips and I satisfy that and eat a couple and stop.  However, I want to give them up altogether.

All in all I am very pleased with my progress and enjoying my new life.

I have dropped 6 dress size and now in the regular misses  size 14  THIS IS WONDERFUL, thanks be to GOD.

Well I am doing so much better.  I am getting in my vitamins and proteins, and I really thank God for the strength, there were days that i thought why did i do this, but i am so grateful that I did.
I am now 4lbs away from being under 200lbs,  I have not seen that in over 15 yrs.  I have dropped almost 65 lbs and several dress sizes.  I no longer have to go to the womens section of the store.  That a first in a very long time as well.
I am now walking every day at least a mile in in the morning and will start back going to curves.

I know that I have the Victory in  this journey.

just gets better

Mar 31, 2008

Well I have lost more pounds, I am really working on getting in the  right amount of protein,  many times you just do not want to eat.  I joines curves again and starting my workout , I do not want all of this skin to hang.  I went to church for the first time in 4wks, and everyone noticed the change and I great I looked.  That makes you feel real good.
Still struggling with the taste in my mouth, but from  what I have been told that is ketosis and it is a good thing, but boy is it it horrible.  I am on to a new phase in the food process, cottage cheese and smoothie drink.

2 wks and going strong

Mar 26, 2008

Yesterday marked my 2 wks for the RNY, and my doctor stated that I am doing great, lost 18lbs and inches everywhere.  I am so excited and pleased with this new journey.  going on to the next phase, starting to work out and walk some more.
The bad taste in my mouth is the only depressing thing, as it makes me feel sick to my stomach, but I am trying the clorets and breath strips hope this helps.
i feel great, got to improve on getting all my proteins in everyday.
