i realize life is fast, complicated and stressful.  but we all need friends, support and hugs.  i ve spent the past yr or so lurking out there.  i had my wake up call w a trip to lovely christiana care er for what i thought was a heart attack.
life is toooo short.  better live ea day as if it could be ur last.

I am scared about over drinking.  I am uncertain about the port since I have discomfort in my waist area.   I look forward to my new life as it unfolds.    I need to uncover my hidden talents that I have not used so far in my life.  I like house plants & am good growing them. I am good teaching others how to computer.  I am gd with numbers & organizing things - rooms, files & obviously appointments.   
As the chains of my old life unlock, may I fly to my full potential as my new life unfolds!

Had an appointment with Sharon, PMRI, dietician.  I lost 6 pounds during thanksgiving and having my back surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's here for Dates!  I am on the calendar for Life Skill classes in January 2007.   I have my dates for the final physician appointment at the end of January.  
All the tests are DONE!!! which means I called Misty at Dr. Peter's office.  I have a surgery DATE!!!!!!  
Of course we all know that Dates Dates and more Dates really means co-pays, money and MONEY.  

I have had my L-5 & S-1 worked on.  I feeling in my right leg.  YEAH!!. BUT I lost my left foot.  With this surgery, there is a lot of swelling.  If I need another back surgery, i will not have it till after I get the majority of weight off.  Who knows, I may not need the surgery.  The added weight could be the main issue. 
I am sure there are others out there with similiar issues.

Today I had my pulmonary test.  Blow out out out harder! now quickly inhale!
Yeah!!!!!

Today, I met with Dr. Chabalko.  Nice person.  He said all looks good.  Dr. Chabalko did want a spirometry w resting arterial blood gas.  No problem.  The test is scheduled for 11/30.  
Yeah!

I had my visit with PMRI.  The nurse was friendly and I enjoyed talking with her as we covered the questions.  The psychologist I did not particularly like.  I found her curt; but she was part of the process.  The dietitian was very cordial.  
I must say, Guy with fitness was my shining light.  With my disabilities, Guy talked positively to me.  Guy made me want to move despite my pain and the massive weight around my middle.  I have hope and am working on a fitness plan.

 

I made follow-up appointment for week 4 with the dietitian.  I have my appointment with the doctor on Dec 7.  Pulmonary is Nov 14.

 

 

 

 

I had my follow-up today for Cardiology.  Dr. Alan Micklin has been polite, gd sense of humor and understanding.  Dr. Alan Micklin’s staff is friendly but not very accurate (other patient’s records and orders were in my folder).

Dr. Alan Micklin said my tests were fine.  He will sign off for my procedure.

 

Yeah!!!!

I had my 2D Echocardiogram w/doppler.  The girl was nice.  The room was done like I was getting a message.  (I rather get the massage). The Persantine Cardiolite was a bit trying.  Didn't like the needle.  Laying there for 12 minutes would have been better if the lites were dimmed but time went quickly.  Did not enjoy the Persantine to open blood vessels to mimic a cardio workout. But it did the trick.  My follow-up Cardio is 11/2.

I had my upper gi today.  Not too bad.  I watched the monitor most of the time.   The serum pylori blood test  was done.  Check them off the list.  I was tired after those two test that I came home and took a nap.  But GOT EM DONE!
