I have been overweight since I was in the 4th grade.  I would diet and lose a few (or more than a few) pounds and then in a matter of months be back to the former weight or weigh more.  This has been my lifetime battle.  I am 61 yrs. old and God has blessed me with good health in spite of my weight.  I have considered this surgery for over 10 years.  Finally a few months ago I went to my family physician to speak with her about my desire and to my utter surprise found out she herself had had by-pass surgery about 3 yrs. ago.  She looks wonderful.  She was about my size (300 lbs) and is now probably 145 lbs. if that.  She recommended her own Dr. who was located just a few miles from our home.  I went to Celebration Hospital a week ago to attend an informational meeting and just today found out that my insurance will pay for "most" of the surgery!  Everything except for the surgeon who is not in the network.  They will reimburse me for part of his charges.  Now I hope to be on the fast track to get this life time change made.  I am a strong believer and have deep faith.  For some time I debated over this being the right thing to do because somehow I felt that I should be strong enough with God's help to do what I had to do.  I now see this as a beginning to becomming the healthy person that I desire to be.
