I had WLS for the Realize band back in 10/13/2009 and had pretty good success with it until I went for a fill in 02/2010. The PA didn't believe I had already got enough fills for my band to be at 7 cc's and he took all the fluid out and placed it all back in causing it not to distribute around my stomach properly. Ever since then I have been up and down with my band. The most I lost with my band was 62 pounds and I have gained about 12 of those pounds back and don't want to go all the way back to where I was before the band. I was over filled for over 8 months with throwing up everyday, just because I was scared I would gain more weight back if I got any fluid taken out of my band. Well I finally got more fluid taken out as of 10/3/2011 and have already gained 5 pounds back, probably because I am so excited I don't throw up my food!!
I am not trying to get everything together so my doctor can do a revision on me to the sleeve. I have done everything I need to do to be approved, but I am trying to wait patiently for the doctors office to submit it all to my insurance company to see what they say. The doctors office isn't the quickest when it comes to things like this and they keep telling me I should have no problem getting a revision, but I still have the doubt in the back of my mind. I just want to know already what the answer will be!!
My husband isn't thrilled about me having another WLS since he says I screwed the first one up what makes him think I won't screw this one up. My mom is very supportive about the revision though since she doesn't like the idea of a foriegn object being in my body. I have had some pain lately at the port sight so that is another reason I think she wants me to get it out of my body.
