I am a 24 year old assistant manager for convience store change. I am more than ready to make a life change.  I come from a family that is not full of over weight and/or obese people, but there are a few of us. Unfortunately though, I do have a family medical history that my weight has me on a path of repetition.  There is everything from diabetis to high blood pressure and cholesterol to heart disease and cancers.

I have dealt with a lot of slack from different people with regards to my choice in pursuing bariatric surgery for a number of reasons one being my age.  Yes I am only 24, but I want to be a healthy young adult. I do not want to be in my late twenties or early thirties bombarded with a million health issues.

I have found a great deal of frustration with trying to lose weight and keep it off.  I have tried a number of different programs as I'm sure we all have, works for a little while and then you gain what you lost plus 10lbs.  The diet roller coaster is an extremely stressful one and I'm tired of it. I am tired of being "big" and I am tired of being tired.

I have decided that I am going to take my future health into my own hands.  I am researching and asking questions about the procedures.  I have an excellent bariatric team that I am working with, for my pre-op work ups.  Are they tough...definately! But I would not have it any other way.  They want what is best for everyone that goes through their program.  And I cannot wait until I get my surgery date!!
