Complications UGHHH

Apr 22, 2012

Well I have had my ups and downs since surgery, I knew it was not going to be easy, but I was hoping I would heal and lose as well as my husband did. Well my 6 month anniversary just went by a last month and in the last 2 or 3 months I have been having problems.

I ended up getting a fairly large ulcer in my small pouch and had to have dilation also. A month later they went in and checked again, I did not need dilation that time but found out I had a fistula or a small hole in my pouch that is going into my stomach. A week or 2 ago I had an upper GI to see how bad it was, I am guessing it is kinda bad cuz I have to go in on April 30th to get it fixed. They are doing it by EGD but my normal surgeon is not doing it a gastric Dr I have never met is but My surgeon should be in there as long as his surgery doesn't run over, I am a little nervous about this new Dr I do not know.
Thankfully this was caught very early and they are able to fix it. On the upside I am still losing but very slowly but I am just happy I am still losing even with this problem, especially since my Dr said it might be easier for my body to get the sugar and carbs easier cuz of this fistula.

Again, I rarely post on here but was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what their outcome was...I still ask myself why I did this when I keep having so many problems but then I look and see all 130 pounds gone and I am very  happy I was able to have the surgery. And deep down I know it has not been too bad of a outcome I just want to keep getting healthier.

Thanks for listening and reading...if anyone has anything to say to help me feel better or whatever I will truly listen.
