I am 38 years old and have struggled with my weight for many years. I was very active with athletics in high school and when I went to college I became sedentary and gained a lot of weight. I have tried many different diets including Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, LA Weight Loss, etc. I have been most successful with Weight Watchers, but have gained the weight back and more. I desire permanent weight loss and believe the WLS is the answer. I am lucky to not have any major co-morbidities at this point, but I am desitined to develop them based on my weight and family history if I don't change my life. I do have chronic Achilles tendonitis, most likely due to my weight, and am headed for surgery to repair the tendons, but am hoping that weight loss will avoid that from happening.
I am a wife and a mother to two wonderful children, ages 2 and 4, and would like to have more energy for my family. As well as not to be embarrassed by my size. I do believe that I am a beautiful person, but my weight literally weighs me down emotionally and physically.
I am hoping this forum will help guide me through this process. Wish me luck!
