My WL, journey, so far

Oct 30, 2016

It's been quite an interesting two weeks.

For those, who haven't had surgery yet, keep in the back of your mind, that it is normal if everything doesn't run smoothly.

I had my VSG, on Oct. 17, 2016.

The surgeon had difficulty getting to my stomach, because of a large incisional hernia.

She, had to temporarily fix the hernia, to get to the stomach.

After, a lengthy surgery, my VSG was done.

I, did well and went home the following evening.

My, next two days at home went well.

I did a few things, made the bed, etc., so I would keep moving.

When, I tired out, I would rest.

Early, the third morning, I woke up to stomach pain, nausea, and the sweats.

Called the Dr.s office, immediately went in.

I was sent to the hospital for a cat scan.

They, saw a small ventrial hernia, that was hidden previously by the large one, that had been repaired.

No blockage was seen, but I was admitted for the day for observation.

Around dinnertime, they had removed my IV and written my didcharge papers.

A surgeon covering for my Dr., comes in and started poking around my incisitional area.

Half an hour later, I'm throwing up and heading into emergency surgery.

They had to cut part of the small intestine, that had died in the hernia.

Six days later, I returned home.

I'm feeling good and pace myself.

I've added fish and chicken to my diet and have tolerated it well.

I haven't been weighed since my surgery date, so I'm anxious to go to my followup on Monday, and see my numbers.

I feel good and am positive.

Sorry, this was so long, but I think it's good for everyone to know, there could be hiccups and don't get discouraged.

Thanks, all.
