WOW....what a whirl wind 4 years!  I had the LapBand in August 2004.  It served me well for the first 2 years, I went from 242-170. However, for the past 2 years I have had bouts of excesive vomitting, averaging 10-15 times daily.  I couldn't keep any food down unless it was fatty (I was never a junk food junkie, but a portion size eater).   I had my band done in NY but moved to Utah where my insurance didn't cover it, they called it cosmetic.  I traveled back and forth to NY and finally had all my liquid released.  I STILL threw up, though not as much...and put on most all my weight immediately because I am still unable to eat vegtables and fruits.  I am now up to 230.  Which has been emotionally and physically challanging.  I am now living in California and have Kaiser Insurance.  I had an Upper GI and Endoscopy and it showed that my band has slipped and I also have a hernia.  I am having surgery to have the band out and I have the option of the Bypass...which I am 95% sure I am going through.  I hope this site helps me decide that I am making the right decision.
