I am a 58 y/o single woman - divorced almost 30 years. I have a 36 y/o son who just got engaged to a lovely 34 y/o woman (neither of them ever married). The two of them are having such a wonderful time together, I want to make sure I can join them! Overweight began with pregnancy and just kept getting worse post-divorce. I haven't been below 200 lbs since 1980. Adding pounds + years certainly has compounded the problems. A recent knee injury that left me on the sofa almost unable to move finally pushed me into making this wonderful decision to use surgery as a weight loss tool. Except for the fact that my insurance has a maximum lifetime benefit of $7500 for WLS (what century are they living in?), once I made my decision in early April 2007, it's been smooth sailing! The bariatric practice I'm using has a well-planned process and once I completed all the steps (psych and nutritional consult and EKG), they submitted my paperwork to insurance and I was approved in less than a week. Now I can't wait to:
-Move without pain!
-Play golf again (need smaller breasts to swing those clubs or a smaller tummy and mid-section!)
-Take a beach vacation!
- Dance at my son's wedding (hope they hurry and set the date)
