My weight problem began in approximately 2000 after moving to a new town and taking a new job. I had also just met my now husband and became too comfortable with myself. I gained over 100 pounds in just 7+ years. Growing up, I never had a real issue with weight. I was comfortable with my size in high school and college, but boy did things change. I had my son in 2004 and put on additional weight from the pregnancy that I could not get off. I have yo-yo dieted over this whole time span, but always gained the weight back plus some. I was successful in losing up to 20-30 pounds each time in a short period, but it was hard for me to continue with the dieting. I have no real excuses except I gave up! I would do anything not to have the so-called "fat gene"! My goal is to be back to the comfortable size I was in my earlier years and become more active. I do not want my son to resent me for being overweight. I want to be a role model for him, not an embarrassment. In addition, I want my husband to be even more proud to have me on his arm when we walk in a gathering.
