Back on the road to my journey

Apr 12, 2017

The staff is VERY friendly and nice but appointments take long and even though I have provided them with all of my required documentations they have yet to submit anything to my insurance company. I was told I have an advocate but although I have left them a message they have never called me back and I have never met them. The visit before last I truly belive they forgot I was there. My appointment was for 9:30, they took me back around 9:45, saw the PA around 10:45 and then got my reports and more appointments around 11:15!!

My initial appointment was 3/30/17 and I already have been seeing a registered dietitian since 1/9/17 and I have already seen a psychiatrist, had an upper GI, spoken with the dietician and his PA. they have my recommendation from my PCP, my labs and recent EKG, provided records from my medically supervised diet and they haven't sent my request to my insurance and I have never met either my doctor nor my patient care advocate. It really concerns me because despite all of the issues I have had with my lapband, my previous doctors office had this process down to a science. I was both approved and scheduled for surgery within 32 days of my first doctors visit. they kept great track of all of my records but with this office they don't seem to have things in order. Their dietician couldn't even see documents I brought in with me on the very first visit!

The staff are the sweetest people but they need to have a better system down to have everyone get processed quickly. especially when we need to know if there are additional things we may need to satisfy our insurance company requirements. them taking their sweet time to submit anything means that I may have to wait additional time to compete things I could be doing NOW! because of this i have decided to call my advocate every single day three to four times a day until i either get an appropriate reply or meet her and know for sure that she has submitted all documentation required to my insurance company. I will be my own advocate!!

I will continue to blog about my journey with Peachtree Bariatrics and Dr Duncan, if I ever meet him. I hope to have an exciting journey and for things to progress and move along promptly. STAY TUNED!!

First Adjustment

Jun 23, 2008

Hi All

Went to my first adjustment today. Didn't even feel the needle. Feel GREAT. Back on clear liquids and then 2 days of fluu liquids. Right now I am really hungry only sipping chicken broth and water but love the journey. Dr. Johnells staff is so amazing. I wish I worked there they are so nice!
