August 8, 2008-----Found out from my primary this week that I have been 'approved' for WLS. Just have to go through all the hoops before I meet the dr and get scheduled. I think I have decided on RNY. I began going to the dr's support group every month and I find them informational and inspiring...I have my nutrition eval on 9/4, and I am awaiting the packet to set up my psych eval and other tests and then I am on my way....I am hoping for an early October surgery.....just when the weather starts to cool off and get nice...so I won't be too miserable recouping...
September 2008----Well I am on my way....I have a surgery date set for October 16th. I went for my pre-op lab work/EKG this past week. 10/1-get Primary clearance for surgery. 10/7-meet with surgeon for one-on-one visit and visit hospital for pre-op screening. Then its GO TIME....I am anxious and a little nervous...but I am happy that this is going to happen. And, I am optimistic that soon I will feel better and look great!
October 13, 2008----3 days and counting...eerily calm right now...I am sure that things will feel different on Wednesday night...for now I am just waiting and keeping busy...trying to ready the house for my 2 weeks of rest...I really don't want to have to do laundry or clean the bathroom until after Halloween....HEHEHE....Will give an update as soon as I am able to LOG ON....
