12/29/08: Update: still going thru pre op procedures, just had my stress test done today heart looks good, even though I have a heart murmur.  Call Dr. G's office today to see what other paperwork they needed and expect a call soon.  Family and friends are supportive but very very concerned.  Dad told me today that maybe I should go to a Nurition Consultant for a few months to see with proper diet and excercise I could do this myself.  I really wish it was possible, but who knows......

1/27/09: Called the Dr.'s office many times within the last 2 weeks, they suggested I call Untied Health myself and find out if I was approved, and sure enough I was, so now I am waiting for the offical letter and then I will make another appointment with Dr. G and God willing get a surgery date...

2/18/09: 2nd appointment with Dr. G, had to weight in again and actually gained 10 pounds...Dr. reviewed the procedure, the good , the bad and the ugly, Dr. explained to me and my Mom what could , should happen and then the downer....the girl who books the surgery had gone home already ...so as of right now I am still waiting for a date and then I will start my 2 weeks liquid diet..yeepie.... I am anixious and really want a date to focus on....

3/17/09: Started my liquid diet (of all days , St. Patty's Day)  shake in the morning, shake in the afternoon a light meal and shake at night, does sound so bad, we will see.

3/23/09: liquid diet hasn't been so bad, I have had tea as well, I hope that does effect anything in a bad way.  I am getting ready, buying chicken broth, crystal light to go packet, sweat pants and trail size toiletries for my hospital stay.  I am still not nervous about the surgery yet..... hope all goes well...

4/16/09: UPdate: I am a little over 2weeks post op and doing great, I have lost 23 pounds so far, I am still a little soar but no pain what so ever...I am on pureed food, like beef barley soup, pureed meat (which I have not tried but I will) cream of wheat etc.  all is going well so far, not sick at all and holding everything down... I am very tired and I take naps, like an old lady LOL... I will check back in a couple of weeks...

05/27/09: update: I am down 50 pounds and feel great, I am working out 3-4 times a week and feel like a new person.  I am not sure how my blood work is going to come back in June, but I am taking everything they told me, I also feel at times I don't get enough protein in, but I am going to start drinking those shakes again just to be sure.  I  have also had many of my pants altered and I've been cleaning out my closet of all my huge clothes... bring it on....
