June 22, 2006 - I went to see Dr. Alexander Abkin. I absolutely love there office staff. I work in the medical field so pleasant personalities within the office are EXTREMELY important to me. Dr. Abkin and I discussed both surgeries. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Abkin and he answered all my questions.
July 17, 2006 - I chose to go with a local psychologist. I saw him today, but I'm no where close to getting okayed. But I'm not sure why.
July 20, 2006 - I saw the pychologist again but he doesnt seem to be keeping on track of the WLS topic.
July 26, 2006 - I chose a local dietician who specializes in WLS and Diabetes. I absolutely love Laura. She told me things that I already knew and things I did not. She was great! And she cleared me for the surgery!! I'm getting there!
July 27, 2006 - I have decided to use Dr. Abkin's psychologist due to insurance and personal reasons. So wish me luck!!
July 31, 2006 - -10 pounds so far(pre-WLS)
August 9, 2006 - I went to see the psychologist associated with Dr. Abkin's office up in Florham Park. I was cleared! Now I have to schedule surgery!
August 14, 2006 - I scheduled my surgery for October 2, 2006! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. This is my first surgery EVER so I'm a little scared, but my family is helping me out so much!!!
September 1, 2006 - APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the best news I have ever heard! That wait for the approval was pure torture though, but I was approved after the first letter! Now comes the final pre-op procedures and I'm on my way!
September 7, 2006 - Well, I just got my blood work done and found out from my PCP that I have Hypothyroidism. Funny that this just developed this past year prior to surgery. Weight isn't a cause of that though. Only 25 days to surgery and I'm scared out of my mind. Mainly because of the surgery itself (anesthesia and all). I have NEVER had surgery so my nerves are on their very ends. The support group I went to last friday helped a little. Now I know that continuing to go to them will help me SO MUCH!
September 13, 2006 - Today my surgery date was changed. I'm excited because it is now a week earlier than it previously was. So, on September 25, 2006 I am having my surgery! Excited, anxious, and nervous all wound into one person is a heck of a lot to deal with, but do-able. :)
September 18, 2006 - Talk about a "bundle of nerves"! The count-down is so close I'm scared to even say it ... 7 Days! I have my pre-op class on Thursday, 9/21. :)
October 06, 2006 - Surgery went extremely well. No complications as of yet! Yipeee!!
Novemeber 03, 2006 - DOWN 51 LBS!!! I feel great!!!!!
November 16, 2006 - I am feeling amazing. Just an overall feeling of wellness that I haven't felt like this is in ... truthfully I can't remember! ... I am 58 lbs lighter! Woo-hoo!! I want to run up and down the streets screaming it! I guess I'll just settle for this post cuz the neighbors might think that I'm CrAzY .... that's all for now! Toodles!!
November 21, 2006 - I am at 60 lbs! That is soooo crazy! But I'm loving every second of it!
