9/13/04 I went to Dr Coate’s office had a 9:30 appointment and was told to arrive 30 min early. I filled out the paperwork and took a short test. Then waited, I did not have the referral from my "primary care group" I had the referral from my primary doctor and my insurance. I waited until my medical group faxed it. By then it was 10:30. I saw the first person she weighed me 278.1 ouch! And measured me 5'2' I’m even shorter than I thought "Bummer". Then to see the Drs. Assistant he was very nice we chatted a few moments, he asked me a few questions and said he would send my stuff to the insurance co. He told me I am a good candidate for wls. Then he said he usually chats about the questions a patient answered wrong, but I had them all right so he was done. I guess it pays to do a little research. Now to wait for the insurance to decide, I hope there fast!

Sept 18, 04 Dina with the HTML team did a fantastic job on my page I love it. I grew up where the mountains and sea come together, with the huge redwood trees! Arcata CA.

Sept 23, 04 talked to Jessica at Dr. Coates office and my request for surgery was faxed to insurance on 9/13/04 I'm still waiting. :O) I will be going to the nutrition class on Oct 11. My physiologist is having me do the after surgery diet for 30 days. (No cheating) Bummer is all I want to eat is JUNK! I want ALL the things I'm NOT going to eat after I come over to the "losing" side. I started Atkins diet again, on Monday (at 280lbs) and its Thursday and 5lbs are gone. Why are diets harder the second time?

Sept 24 I'M APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I received "3" letters today from Pacific care and they approved me for RNY. I'm so exited and really scared. I was not scared until today! Monday I will call Dr Coates office and see if I can get a surgery date, hopefully mid November. My vacation is the first week of Nov. so the second week would be perfect.

Sept 28. I set up my surgery date Nov 15, at 12 noon. I could of had it done sooner but we are on vacation to Las Vegas the first week of Nov (going to the SEMA show) (it's car stuff)and I want to eat at the buffets one last time before I cross over to the losing side! All the pre-op stuff is set up so I will be ready. WAHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! :o)

Oct 2, 2004 My granddaughter "Beautiful" (almost 7 yrs old) asked me about my surgery and if I was sick. We discussed the fact that I want to be healthy. That way we could do all the fun things together that "grandma" can't do right now 'cause I’m too big and it’s to hot. "Beautiful" told me she would love me fat or skinny it did not matter to her. My eyes watered but I did not want her to see me cry. Children are defiantly a blessing!

Oct 8, My friend Robin and I are still walking every morning before work. I actually look forward to walking. Some days the walk still kicks my butt. I’m having a horrible time trying to stay on Adkins diet it has only been two weeks and I just crave the things I can't have (banana split please!) This is so not funny. I promised the physiologist. Dr I would do the after surgery diet for a month strait, but this is the toughest time I've ever had sticking to a diet. Tomorrow I will do better.

Oct 11, 04 Nutrition class boring I can't believe the people who didn't read the binder before class. I guess I'm just a freak about knowing as much as I can about WLS. 4 hours done. One day over with and closer to surgery. I got home today and on the machine was a message to call my primary care Dr. about my blood tests. It’s never good when they phone you instead of a card in the mail. So tomorrow I will call first thing to see what is up now.

Oct 14, The big deal at the primary care Dr was my sugar is too high so now I get to have the diabetes test. Wow what fun.

Now I just have to figure out how I'm going the lab test and not take any time off work.

Oct 29 Today I'm officially on vacation as of 5pm WHOOOHOOOO!!!

My tummy has been tied in knots this whole week. I think as my surgery date gets closer, I'm getting scared and more nervous. I dreamed I had a cold and they postponed my surgery. (Then that morning I woke up with a cold.) All the thoughts in my mind like what if the Dr. makes a mistake or I wake up and get an infection or worse yet, I don't wake up. I guess we all go through this. I told my Dad about my surgery first he was very concerned, then kind of angry. He asked why I would do this surgery if 1 in 200 dies. My answer is "I can't live this way anymore." he took that and wished my luck. Dad's wife called me the next day and said he kept her up half the night talking about what I was doing. I guess I freaked him out.

Nov 7,2004 We got home from Las Vegas at 7 last night, I was not even in the door and the cell phone was ringing, my son-in-law got the honors of telling me one of my uncles passed away on Friday. My Uncle Clyde's funeral is Tuesday, my boss is going to have a cow but I'm still going. I'm still on vacation Monday. I was going to do my glucose tolerance test, get my nails done and write my "just in case letters". But now I'll go to work and beg for Tuesday off. Then do my test and spend the day with my family. Most of witch I have not seen in a very long time. Well on a happier note Las Vegas was a blast. My t-shirts fit and so did my jacket so this year I did match everyone else WHOOO HOOO! Next year I'm going to were Beth's shirt "Ha Ha she's a size 6". I even got to do the fountains at the forum shops, something we have missed the last 2 times to Vegas. Who else but me would be so exited to see a free show? Go figure! Rex is such a wonderful hubby he did everything at my pace and he never makes me feel bad for it. I am married to the BEST! Today I start the pre-op diet. 2 protein shakes and 1 4oz meat and a small serving of veggies, and don't forget 64 oz water.

Nov. 8th I did not have to beg for the day off after all. I worked Monday and they gave me Tuesday off no problem. Surprise.

Nov 9th I did my glucose tolerance test from 7:45 to 9:45 Debi my daughter came and hung out with me at the lab. 5 pokes later and a BIG bruise, we headed out to get our nails done then off to Uncle Clyde’s funeral. The church was full and lots of family I had not seen in a very long time some 20 years. And lots of children of theirs I had not met before. The wake was nice I visited with my family and talked for a long time with my aunt Sharon. Then I ran over to the support group in Oakdale. Then home.

Nov 12 Rex and Kira my granddaughter took me to "House of Beef" for dinner I had prime rib, baked potato, and the best sugared carrots anywhere.  Yummy. My farewell to BIG meals!

    NOV 13 Debra took my measurements. Neck 17 1/2". Bust 54 1/4". chest 46". Hips 53 1/4". L Thigh 28 1/4. R Thigh 29". L Calf 17 1/2". R Calf 17 1/2". L AnKle9". R Ankle 9 1/4". L Bicep 17 1/2". Right Bicep 18". L Wrist 6 1/2". R Wrist 6 5/8".

Nov 14 bowel prep day YUCK! But it was not half as bad as I had dreamed (nightmare) about. Off to bed at 9:15

Nov 15 SURGERY DAY! First off to the mammogram for a boob squish. Then we hung out at Debi's until 9:45 then off to the hospital. Of course I forgot the parking pass. Robin met us there we took photos. The photo at the bottom is Debi my daughter, Rex my hubby and me. Then went inside waited about 5 min then off to the back I was weighed 269.5 and given a big girl gown. I.V. and those cute little bracelets. Dr. Coates came it and said we would start at 1. I asked if he was going to get lunch, yes he was. I asked what he was having he said tuna sandwich, I asked him what if I did not want a tuna sand, he said oh well. My friend Dawn and my sis-in-law Tracey came to wish me well. They took me to the OR at 12:10 I kissed Rex and Debi. And was off to a new life! My RNY was lap and all went well. Surgery took 1 1/2 hrs. I don't know if he took my Gaul bladder, or if I came home with it intact. I could not wake up the morphine had me. When I opened my eyes, I could not respond to anything. I could see, hear, and feel. I knew what I wanted to say, and what body parts I wanted to move. I just could not acknowledge anything or move my arms or legs. It was very scary.

NOV 16 Rex finally got them to take me off the morphine, and a few hours later I was finally responding. Rex and Debi were there to walk, bath, feed, and take care of me. The nurses and aids only had to do the meds and vitals. Rex even took me potty, what a wonderful man he is.

NOV 17 Dr. Coates P.A. Don came in at 1pm and asked if I was ready to go home. He said it would be about 6pm. So I'm homeward bound. Rex took his truck home and got me a dress and my PT Cruiser so I did not have to climb in the truck. I slept in the guest room; I don't think I will be able to get out of my waterbed.

NOV 19 Rex gave me a shower. Boy do I feel better. I'm very bruised and sore. We went to the grocery store. I followed the cart around as he pulled it. I was very tired when we were done.

NOV 22  Debi came out and took me to my Dr. visit today. 1 week check up! 12 pounds gone! And everything is going as planed. I'm confused as to why they did not even want to look at my incisions. I get to eat soft protein only foods. Eggs, chicken, fish, cheese, and protein drinks. Debi and I went to KFC I had a thigh or should I say about a third of it, no skin or crunchies. I had another third of it for dinner. And Jessica dog got the rest.

Thanksgiving Day. Jeff, Beth, Dustin, Anne, & Dad all showed up last night we did not go to bed until 1:15 this morning. We all went to Kevin and Tracey's house for dinner at noon. We had a great time. Kevin cooked the bird MMMM.... I was amazed that I was not hungry at all. I ate a few bites of mashed potatoes and gravy and a couple of bites of turkey off of Rex'es plate. They all laughed at me and nicknamed me the 2oz kid. Luckily my family is all very supportive even my dad, who through such a fit. We had a lot of fun and exhausting weekend I even had to take a couple of naps. I'm still fighting to get my water in. Tea is easier to drink. I'm lucky to get 48 oz per day. I find it very easy to skip meals. This is very strange not to be hungry.

DEC 1, 2004 I went to my 2 week nutrition class today they are changing the baricatric program but she would not tell us about it as she has not finalized it with the Drs. For now we are to fallow the white binder. The most confusing and redundant book I have ever read. I got my AFLAC check today so I have spending money, I'm going Christmas shopping.

DEC 5 Rex and I went shopping and got our tree. We or should I say Rex decorated the outside of the house.

DEC 6  We put the tree in the house and Debi, Kira and Jason helped me decorate it. We used the candy garland we made last week. Gingerbread men are this years decorations. The tree is really cute and Kira did a great job. Jason (21 months old) kept putting the ornaments on, then taking them back off; he just did not get the idea they were to stay on the tree.

DEC 8 I had my 1 month blood test today and stopped by the Dr's to weigh. 247lbs down 6 more pounds for an after surgery total of 22lbs in 28 days. And 34 lbs from my highest weight of 281.

     DEC 10 Debra took my measurements. Neck 16 3/4", -3/4". Bust 52 1/4", -2". Chest 45 3/4", -1/4". Waist 50 1/2", -2 1/2". Hips 52 3/4, -1/2". L Thigh28",-1/2". R Thigh 27 1/2" -1 1/2". L Calf 16 3/4", -3/4". R Calf 17", -1/2". L Bicep 16 1/2", -1". R Bicep 17 1/4, -3/4". L Wrist 6 1/4", -1/4". R Wrist 6 3/8", -1/4". My loss is a total of 12 inches!!!!!! In 1 month, WOW!

DEC 13 My 4 week check up. According to the PA Daryl my blood work is normal. And I'm doing well. I'm eating everything I should fish, chicken, pork, cottage cheese, and cheeses. I found out that my new favorite food "taco bell pintos and cheese with extra sauce" is a NO-NO BUMMER. Daryl said it is the reason I only lost 1 lb in the last 5 days. Well no more pintos and cheese. Oh by the way I LOST 24 lbs in 4 weeks Yeah!!!!!!! Not as much as I had hoped but I will take it. I had hamburger meat for dinner it was hard to chew to the super small size. Hamburger did not taste as good as I wanted it to. I fixed it the way I always did but I liked it better before surgery.

DEC 14 Today I went back to work. I had a very hard time getting through the whole day by noon I was exhausted, I just wanted to go home and rest. Well I made it through 8 1/2 of the 9 hour shift. Then I went to the support group. We had a pot luck I had the best zucchini casserole. I'm not supposed to have veggies yet but I only had 2 bites and my bites are very tiny. Besides on the new program a small serving of veggies is permitted as is 2 servings of milk per day. Daryl said he thinks the new program will slow down the weight lost dramatically.

DEC 16 My rings are getting too large they are spinning around on my fingers. My black and white sweater is too large around the arms and bust now. The roll under my arms in the bra band area is way smaller now too. WHOOHOO!!! Robin and I went to the store for birthday group goodies cup cakes, cake, chocolate milk and cookies. They looked very good but I did a great job of ignoring them I did not even try to taste them. I'm to afraid of dumping on the sugar or worse yet finding out I can eat sugar. I never want to know I can eat sugar again. I know I would never have the willpower to leave it alone. Then where would I be right back in the same boat trying to convince myself that one bite will be ok then another and another, until I'm right back to my fat old uncontrollable self. I want this WLS to work. I have to learn how to make myself behave and not let my head-hunger rule me.

DEC 20 I took my rings off today. My wedding set is falling off and I don't want to loose it. I tried on Rexes wedding band it is now way too big also. I'm now wearing my PROMISE ring! Rex gave it to me when I was 15 years old and I wore then I wore a size 9 pants. Well I don't were the size 9 pants now, but the ring is fitting fine.

DEC 21 I went to the shoe store on my lunch break today. All of my shoes are falling off when I walk, and I'm afraid I will fall. Well my pre-op shoe size was 9 1/2 to 10 wide. Now it's a size 8 regular even my feet are shrinking! TOO COOL. I only bought 1 pair; I'll wait to see if I shrink anymore soon.

DEC 22 Robin had her open RNY done today she did well. They took out her gallbladder also. Bob, Robins DH called me right after the Dr. talked to him.

DEC 23 Jeff and Beth came in early this morning, I was still asleep. Rex, Jeff and Beth came to take me to lunch. They saw me from across the parking lot. Both of them said WOW. They could not believe what a difference 1 month makes. I ate my lunch 2 bites off of Jeff’s open face roast beef with gravy sandwich, and 1 bite off Rex'es plate. Then back to work. Dinner was at the Nutcracker. I had a small cup of French onion soup. It was very good I ate almost all of it.

DEC 24 I had to work until 4:15pm. I'm having a hard time with constipation. This is really painful. I finally used a suppository. Much better. Rex & Jeff BBQ'd Salmon with lots of butter, garlic and lemon. MMMMmmmmm. My Dad finally got there about 8pm. He quickly dressed as Santa (in the freezing cold garage). He came in the front door. Santa talked to all the kids and adults. He gave the kids each a gift. Kira (age 7) told me when Santa was talking to someone else, that she thought that Santa was really Great-Grandpa John (My father). I just told her

That Santa is real as long as she believes in him.

DEC 25 CHRISTMAS! Today was real fun. Rex and I got up at 7:15 we made macaroni salad, deviled eggs, sugar free Jell-O, chilirenos, and got everything ready for dinner. Jeff & Beth gave Rex and I a very special gift from them. A framed story Beth wrote for us, about how we helped her to know what a family really is about. The story is very touching. Dad and Annie got up and we all just hung out for the morning. Debi, Jason, Kira & baby Jason Lee came over about 11. Next to show up was Richard. By noon Jeff called Kevin and told him to get their butts over here so we can open the gifts. About 12:45 Kevin, Tracey, Kahla & Colman got here. So we opened gifts. Debi and Rex did the handing out of the gifts; both of them wore the Santa hats. We had a lot of fun and tons of gifts. Rex gave Debi a very special gift this year. It was a box wrapped in 6 different not matching papers the tag just read from uncle Robert.(Robert my brother in law passed away 1/1/2001) Debi sat down to open it. As soon as she started to she was crying. The box was full of some of Roberts Mickey Mouse collectables. She was elated. Rex had finally been able to look at his brothers favorite things and give some of them to Debi. My gifts from Rex were a stainless steel toaster I had been wanting and an envelope marked "to be opened last” I opened it and the Treasure hunt was on. Each clue was heart felt, the first was "here is something to keep your pretty face sparkling" it was super soft wash cloths,” here is something for the hands that do so much for me"  hand towels, then bath towels. Well I thought that was it. NOPE it was NOT! The next note said "ready to go again?" then I got a black caring bag, kinda like a purse. Next a little case with a "256" card of some sort, then a "star-trek" looking thing, then a battery and then the last one was a killer digital camera.  Now the card & star-trek thing made since. It was the memory and the port to hook my camera to the computer. The treasure hunt was great fun. My daughter Debi taught herself to knit and made me a blue and white scarf. My brother Kevin & Tracey gave me a big basket to put by my front door for all the shoes. My father gave me a plate that his parents bought on their honeymoon in NigraFalls in 1931. Annie my step mom gave me a cute dog that waters the lawn. Jeff & Beth gave me a big basket full of rooster kitchen stuff. Our activity this year was to draw a picture of what Christmas and family mean to each of us. Everyone drew on a 12 inch square of white fabric. I will be making a quilt out of them in the coming year.

DEC 27 This morning my scale stopped at TA DA 239lbs WHOOOHOOO! GOOD BYE 240's I received my statement from Pacific care, my  WLS surgery cost $48919.67 OUCH!!!!! And my part is $250.00 Thank god for insuracnce!

DEC 29 I had an interview at the Modesto DMV. I thought it went ok. I'm sure that their are better qualified applicants than I, so I'm not holding my breath. Today I was told by a supervisor that she got a complaint from a customer that my dress was cut to low. Well it was not a dress. I had on a sweater over a camisole and a broomstick skirt. Great I wore it to my interview.

DEC 31 NEW YEARS EVE I had to work we got of at 5pm. We kept Kira and Jason over night. Debra went to a party with Victor. I like to have thought that baby would never go to sleep.

JAN 1 2005 Happy new year! Rex Debi Kira and I went shopping today we bought yarn and knitting needles. I'm going to learn to knit. Then we looked at couches for our living room. It has only been furniture-less for over 3 years. We found 2 sets we liked When we got home and measured the room only the smaller set will work.  Rex BBQ'd tri-tip for dinner Debi's family ate with us. Debra was trying to show me how to cast on the knitting needles when my tummy started to hurt. Well my friend constipation is back with a vengeance. I was in so much pain I was almost ready to go to the hospital. 2 suppositories and a fleet enema and still no relief. I think it is all impacted in there.

JAN 3 Finally a normal bowel movement. I feel better. I'm making a Drs. Appointment, this is ridicules. Modesto office called me at 4:45 and offered me the full time job. I took it and my start date is this morning. No not a type-o I'm now on loan to Turlock until Friday. WOW I never even talked to Rex about the job I just didn't think I would get it. When I told him I'm changing offices, he said "I hope you will be happy there." He was very sincere, not sarcastic.

JAN 6 Thursday. I went to the Dr. for the constipation problem and the PA just said take colace and drink a lot of water. I weighed in at 235. I'm now down 46lbs. my nutrition class was good I like the new plan I can have 3 oz of fruit or veggies per day. And some milk too. Maybe this will help with the "butt problem" I had 1 oz of apple sauce with dinner yummm. JAN 7 My last day at Turlock office. Usually when someone leaves an office we have a potluck. Well they decided a potluck probably was not very appropriate. Patsy brought in a single serving of s/f orange Jell-O. Jim brought in little lunch bag for me. Inside was a dozen "little smokies". He made miniature hotdog buns and sliced little pickles bun size. Also in the bag was a wheel of Gouda cheese the small size you get in assortment packs from hickory farms. We all had a great laugh about my lunch. I took a photo of my saucer with my lunch on it. I put a dime on the plate so you could tell it was a miniature lunch. For a going away gift the office gave me a 100 gel pen set and a sterling silver necklace. Penny made me a collage box. I will miss the Turlock office. Most of all I'll miss my walking partner Robin.

JAN 8th Saturday. Rex, Kira and I went to Stockton to look at furniture we found that same couch set (from last week), a glider, and a set of lamps we liked. We came back to Oakdale and ordered the glider with a forest tapestry fabric on it. The glider should be here in about 8 weeks. Then we looked at another store, and ordered the couch and love seat that we had seen in the 2 other stores. It is twill fabric in a mossy green. We also ordered 2 table lamps they look like a surveyor’s tripod. We went to cold stone to get Kira an ice-cream, it looked very good and I had her explain what the ice-cream tasted and felt like. I did fine with the fact that I can't have ice-cream. I hade fun watching her enjoy it, and to understand how a 7 year old thinks about ice-cream in a candy sprinkled chocolate waffle bowl.

JAN 10  I weigh 232 That is 49LBS down. Rex and I moved all the stuff out of the living and dinning room. We have my china and dinning room stuff all over the house. We started to scrape the acoustic ceiling off. This is one messy job. I did notice my stamina is much longer even though I'm only 8 weeks out from WLS. I think I'm much more help, on this project than other projects in the past. I used to do allot of watching or allot of stopping and resting!

JAN 11 I started my new job in the Modesto DMV office. The staff made me feel very welcome, and it helped to know about 1/2 of the staff. They drew me a welcome poster and all signed it.

JAN 15 Well I still love my new office. The ceiling is all scraped, sanded and vacuumed. We hung plastic on all the walls and over the bar and fireplace. Rex sprayed on the new texture. This stuff burns my eyes like ammonia. This afternoon Debi and I took Kira to the hobby store. Kira picked out a set of knitting needles and some variegated primary colored yarn. We took them home and she did pretty well we got 2 rows done on a scarf for her. For only being 7 she can do anything she is shown how to do. Debi did my measurements for me, my total inches lost in 2 months is 28 5/8". WOW!!!! My measurements are now

NECK..15 1/2"     BUST..50 1/2"     WAIST..45 1/4"     HIPS..50"

L THIGH..26 3/4"     R THIGH..25 3/4"     L CALF..16 1/2"     R CALF..16 1/2"

L ANKLE..9"             R ANKLE..9"             L BICEPT..16"       R BICEPT..17"

L WRIST..6 1/4"       R WRIST..6 3/8"

We got the walls and ceiling painted. All the wood work is polished and the fixtures are back up. The room was finished and ready for the new furniture only 2 hours before it was delivered. Wow does it look nice in there.

JAN 21 Friday. Dr. Coates office called. Apparently my B1 is way too low. I was told to double it. I checked my bottle when I got home and I'm only taking B12. Mystery is solved gotta get the B-complex.

JAN 22 We went to Home Depot and bought the oak lumber and turnings, so Rex could build the end table for the living room. Then to Costco for vitamins and protein drink mix. I started taking the b-complex I cut it in to 4 pieces so it will dissolve quicker and hopefully I will absorb it better. Man do they taste nasty! Also they want to come back up in the worst way. I'm still riding my stationary bike I'm doing about 7 min at a time. I also lift my 3lb weights while I'm riding. I'm getting batwings BUMMER!........   ^*^ batwings      JAN 23 Debi told me my body shape is changing again. I'm fitting in to allot of the cloths Arleen and Shahra gave me. This is very exciting. I still weigh in at 228. Hopefully I'll drop more soon. I visited with my neighbor Arleen. She had RNY surgery in March 2003. She had every problem imaginable from a leak about 1 week after surgery (5 weeks in intensive care) to still not being able to eat at 10 months out. She is a lot of information. Debi and I sewed all afternoon and played with Jason. Rex built the end table. I liked this e-mail from my sis-in-law and wanted share it here.        ............THE MAYONNAISE JAR AND COFFEE...........When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the coffee. A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf

balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes." The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things-your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passion-things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else-the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal." "Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand." One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

FEB 4,2005I weighed 220. That is down 61LBS from my highest weight!

FEB 5 Yesterday I gave away a whole bunch of my dresses that were to big. Today the end table was finished and put in the living room, it turned out wonderful. My glider was delivered yesterday. Rex and I are very pleased with how the room looks. Today I weighed in at 219, -62lbs from my heaviest! I made a peanut butter, 1/4 banana, skimmed milk and protein powder shake for lunch. I felt awful after drinking it. The peanut butter had sugar in it and I didn't read the label before mixing it in. That is the last time I don't read the label first.

FEB 9 I fit in to size 18 pants WHOOOHOOOO!!!!!!! It's time to clean out the closet again. I've been working in Modesto for 5 weeks and I have not worn any one item of clothing to work more than once. My boss keeps telling me I look different every day. My body must be really changing.

FEB 11 I brought home both grandkids to stay the night. We all went to dinner at a home-style hole on the wall restaurant, they had wonderful food. I had a bite off of everyone’s plate. I'm sure the owner/waitress thought I was a nut for not ordering anything. At our 3 favorite restaurants the waiter and waitresses all know I had WLS and just bring me a little plate so I can eat off of Rex's plate.

FEB 12 Tracey and I went shopping for my Brother Jeff’s surprise 40th birthday party. Then we decorated my living room and dinning room. Blue, Black and White streamers, and the over the hill were the decorations. I cleaned out my closet of all but 2 pair of shoes none of them will stay on my feet anymore. I also packed up my size 24 pants and whole bunch of shirts to give to Robin; she had open RNY Dec 22, 2004

FEB 14 Debi measured me I've lost a total of 38" in 3 months.

I went to Dr. Coates office for my 3 month check up. GRRRR

I took my grandchildren with me; their Mom and Dad were working today. By the way they were very well behaved, even though they had to wait forever. Well my appointment was at 10:30 I got there at 10:20. The office was packed; witch should have been my first clue. I was finally seen at almost 2 hours later at 12:15. The P.A. "Dianne" flew in the room, asked if I was doing ok, if I had any problems and stated she was late for the meeting with the office staff and the barricatic services group. The only thing she was concerned about was letting me know my new BMI. She was with me less than 2 minutes! I was fuming! The only good part is my blood tests did come back great, no more vitamin B problem. Angela was the one to tell me that. Angela is the girl who weighs and checks you in. I think the Drs. office needs help in scheduling appointments, or something. Oh I almost forgot I weighed in at 213lbs, down 68 lbs now. I met Debi, Robin and Bob for lunch at "soup city". Yummy, cream of broccoli soup. Then off to Tracey's to decorate the motor home for this weekend’s trip to the casino for Jeff’s birthday party. Jason fell asleep on the way there, and did not wake up so I was able to help get the whole thing decorated casino style. I headed home around 4pm. I cleaned house. Big Jason picked up the kids at 6:15. So I started supper. Rib eye steak and rice (for Rex) I had steak and applesauce it was good. Rex did not even tell me happy Valentines Day. I guess he had a tuff day at work today.

FEB 17 today is Jeff’s birthday. Debi, Beth, and Jeff took me to lunch at A&W I had a bite of Debi's burger and 3 fries with ketchup. When I got home from work I made deviled eggs, Macaroni salad and decorated Jeff’s over the hill cake. Kevin and Rex BBQ'd. After dinner we had Jeff blow out 40 candles he only missed 3 not bad for an old man LOL. We had a lot of fun.

FEB 18 Rex took me to lunch down town at a Chinese restaurant. I ordered garlic chicken "mild and no sugar". It was way too spicy to eat, so I just ate Rex'es and my soup it was so good. Dinner was a Surprise pizza party with some of Jeff’s friends from SLO. Then home to watch TV.

FEB 19 I worked till 10 then off to Black oak casino. We all rode up in Kevin & Tracey's new motor home we had lots of fun.

FEB 21 Rex and I looked at travel trailers today. We bought Kira & Jason a bunk bed set, and set it up in their room. Next we bought 2 sheds for the yard stuff and bikes. We set up the small one.

FEB 22 After work today I moved almost all of the wood pile. I hope to have it all moved before this weekend so Rex will only have to level out the ground for the big shed. By the way I'm up to 11 1/2 min on my stationary bike. I also lift my 3lb weights while I'm riding. I sure hope my bat wings don't get to much worse.

MARCH 2,2005 WOOHOO!!!!! I weigh less than my husband! 208lbs!!!! I can't remember the last time I weighed this little.

MARCH 3 I baked the cakes for baby Jason’s birthday party. I sure wanted to lick the bowl! I didn't even have one taste.

MARCH 4 Debi and I decorated the "Sponge Bob" cake, some cup cakes and star cakes. They turned out really cute. I let Kira lick the frosting. I didn't even taste a drop.

MARCH 5 The birthday party. I tried to eat a hamburger no luck it just won't chew up enough and the same for the hot dog. I had about 10 BBQ potato chips and a piece of cheese. When it came time for the cake we headed out. We bought a pressure washer at Lowes.

MARCH 6 We mowed and pulled weeds then pressure washed the patio. My legs are sure sore.

       MARCH 9 204lbs

MARCH 11 202lbs. We drove down to Jeff's for a visit. Jessica dog went to. We went to dinner at a sea food restaurant; I had a childs plate of fish and chips. I ate 1 fish chunk and a couple of fries they were so good. I also ordered a sugar free cheese cake I had 4 small bites MMMMMM!!!!! We slept in the camper shell. MARCH 12 Rex and I walked around Jeff's block this morning. It is rolling hills and was about a 2 mile walk. Rex commented on the fact I was not panting, and was walking a lot faster than I used to. I did not even have to stop and rest! We looked at travel trailers where Jeff does verifications. We found one we liked and the price was $4000. Off of the sticker price, because of Jeff. Next we went to Home Depot for a bug zapper (the skeeters are really thick out here) We witnessed a really careless lady in a Honda. She was putting a 12 foot long 2X4 in the back drivers side window and out the front passenger window. She kept hitting the Lexus next to her scratching it all up. She must have hit the car 10+ times. Jeff left a note for the owner and the dumb lady drove off with the 2X4 sticking (no exaggeration) 4 foot out the front window and 3 foot out the back window. We were betting she would hit something on her drive home. What an Idiot! We ate at sizzler I tried a bite of cheese toast. It was good and my tummy seemed to like it. Sizzler is the first restaurant we have been to that would not let me order of the kids menu, so I don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon.

MARCH 13 Happy anniversary 24 years married. Rex and I walked the other way around Jeff's block this morning. It was a little harder the rolling hills were at the end of the walk so I was slower this time, but I did not have to stop to rest! Beth and I got take out for breakfast from Dennys we shared a farmers plate when we were done there was still enough for a grown man to eat the left overs. Rex and I headed home about 2:30. We stopped at the trailer dealership again. Well we decided to buy the "Cougar" 29' travel trailer. We added the satellite dish, all the tow stuff for the truck, and a few other things and still got the trailer for a lot less than any of the other dealerships we were looking at. We will drive back to Paso Robles in a few weeks to go get it. Well when we got done with all the paperwork it was 6pm. We went to "Big Bubba's BBQ" for dinner. Rex and I shared a combo plate. Beef and pork ribs and chicken, beans, cheese toast, and steamed veggies. At 7:30 we headed home.

MARCH 14 First we cleaned and vacuumed the truck out. We went shopping for kitchen stuff and bedding for the trailer. We also looked for a generator. Lunch was Wendys I had chili.

MARCH 15 Debi and I went shopping for cloths. We tried on the same 15 outfits. Yes I'm now the same size as my daughter. XL in the normal people side of the store! Well the only thing I bought was panties and they don't say "just my size" around the waist! ....My measurements are,

Neck 15 1/4" down 2 1/2".      Bust 47 1/2" down 6 3/4".

Waist 42" down 9".               Hips 46 3/4" down 6 1/2"

L Thigh 24 1/4" down 4"        R Thigh 25" down 4"

L Calf 16 1/2" down 1"           R Calf 16" down 1 1/2"

L Bicep 15 1/2" down 2"         R bicep 15 1/4" down 2 3/4"

TA-DA! THAT IS A TOTAL OF 40 INCHES GONE IN 4 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!

MARCH 20 My hair has been falling out by the handfuls! This has been going on for about 2 weeks now, I cut my hair short, and had it layered. Now it really looks thin and you can see how bald I'm becoming. I hope this doesn't last very long. This morning I weighed in at 200lbs.

MARCH 22 Tonight I grabbed a T-shirt out of my jammie drawer slipped it on and thought this is a little tighter than the last time I wore it. Well it was not MY T-shirt it was Rex's and it fit me!! (We have a lot of the same shirts) His shirts are larges and X-L's. My shirts were 3X's and they were very tight on me before my surgery.

MARCH 23 THIS MORNING I'M 199 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe this. In just 4 months and a week I'm 82 pounds lighter. WHOOHOO!!!! My sister-in-law Linda, tried to take her own life tonight. She OD'd on pain meds. She called Rex and said she was sorry for doing this. We called 911 and headed to her house. We beat the ambulance there. They took her to Oak Valley Hospital. NOT a pretty way to die. She had convolutions all the night and in to Morning.

MARCH 24 Linda made it through the overdose and was released to

the physic hospital for help. We went shopping for the things we still need for the weekend in Oceano. I also tried on Bras. I fit in a 40C, that’s down from a 46D that I was squished in to before my surgery. I bought a pretty black one with pink accents in the center and one plain white one. Rex and Kira headed down to Jeff's house, about 7:30pm. This will be the first time I've ever stayed the night alone. I hope I can sleep. Happy birthday to my brother, Kevin.

MARCH 25 Well I slept. I guess I was too tired from being up all the night before. I worked today. At 5pm Debi, Jason Lee, and my brother and his family met me at work. From there we headed out to Oceano. I followed Kevin's RV. We got to the campground at about 10pm. Beth and Jeff were hanging out with Rex and Kira. Rex had the new travel trailer all set up, even the beds were ready, and coffee was ready too. This is going to be so much fun.

MARCH 26 Saturday. Rex and Jeff headed to Santa Barbara. Rex bought a '75 Dodge 4x4. The rest of us just hung out at the camp for a while. Tracey fixed us breakfast. French toast, bacon, and sausage. It was very good. We went shopping for towels and beach stuff. We also went to the grocery store for steaks and strawberries for dinner. Next we went to Pismo Beach with the Tahoe and "Tonka toy" the purple Amigo. Kevin had a grand time in the sand dunes. we played in the sand and surf. The kids had a ball. We headed back to camp about 5pm. The guys got back at about 8pm from Santa Barbara. The truck is GREEN, I'm beginning to think everything we own is green. HA HA. Kevin fixed a great dinner and a bonfire. We hung out a chatted for a while then off to bed.

MARCH 27 I cleaned the trailer and Rex packed everything up. Jeff and Kevin helped my guide Rex in backing up the truck to the trailer. Well we are on our way at about 11am. I followed Rex and the trailer, in my PT. Rex was so proud the dodge pulled the cuesta grade at 70 miles and hour fully loaded. We stopped allot to check the trailer, feed the grandkids, and "pee" the dog. We did manage to get the trailer in the storage spot with not too much headache. Debi was very good at helping her Dad to get it in the spot strait. Finally home about 6:30 unloaded everything and ate dinner.

MARCH 28 I'm so tired. After work today Debi and I visited with Linda at the Hospital. She is going home tomorrow.

APRIL 14,2005 Today I found out I have a collar bone! The seat belt was rubbing on it. I weighed 192 this morning. Its sure is crazy the things I notice about myself now.

        APRIL 15 I'm 5 months out today, and I weigh 191. 90LBS gone!

APRIL 26. I weigh 188. My hair is falling out by the blushful. This is very scary to me I don't want to be bald. I bet theirs no more than 40 hairs in a square inch on the top of my head now. I hope it will start growing back soon! I have to backcomb it on top of my head so my shinny scalp does not show through. I even started to use hairspray so it all stays where it is combed to. I have only been washing it about every 5 day or so, that way it is not all ending up in the drain.

APRIL 26. Today I noticed that the bath towel goes all the way around me! I could tuck it under its self and not have to hold it around me.

APRIL 29. Friday. Trailer is all hooked up and off we go to Morro Bay for a 3 night stay. I even drove the truck with the trailer attached, even though it was only 21 miles of freeway driving. We went to Great American fish co for dinner then back to the trailer to snooze.

APRIL 30. Off to join Beth and Jeff. We went shopping at Trader Joe's, and to get food for BBQ dinner. Next we went to the rifle range. Rex, Jeff, Beth and Dustin shot the rifles for about 4 hours. It was fun to watch through the spotting scope. We BBQ'd pork ribs, nummy. I ate a whole 5 bites one rib would have served me at least 3 meals.

nothing more will fit on this page!
