I cannot believe how this surgery is working for me.  I have lost 45 pounds in the three months since my surgery.  I've had NO fills yet and I feel great.  I bought my first new pair of jeans after all my others were falling off of me.  Down two whole sizes, woohoo!

This whole experience is a little unreal to me.  I get on the scale and it says I'm down another two pounds and still I think "Oh, it'll be back up the next time I check."  A lifetime of diets have not exacty prepared me for permanent, steady weight loss.

My band experience varies day to day.  It's always hardest first thing in the morning; most days I'll start with a protein supplement for breakfast or a SF Carnation Instant Breakfast with Skim Plus milk.  Even that sometimes takes a whlie to go down.  Remember, this is with NO FILL!  By lunch I can usually eat something more substantial and dinner is usually pretty good.  I try to have some kind of protein snack in-between meals and I really focus on getting in my water.  No matter what else I'm drinking, or how much of it, I always try to drink my two 1-liter bottles of water.  I'm still off the caffeine, and guess what?  I feel GREAT!

Here's the funny thing:  Last weekend, I saw a bunch of people I hadn't seen since before my surgery.  Almost everybody said to me "Wow, you look great!  You look so...TAN!"  Haaaa, 45 pounds down and nobody can tell.  Or if they can, they're not saying.

I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase of all this, and aside from one plateau that lasted a couple of weeks I've lost consistently...but I have to say:  I'd do this again in a heartbeat.  I never feel deprived and I never want for anything.  If I'm dying for a cookie, I'll eat a cookie.  I can usually only get half of it down anyway.  If I need ice cream, I'll have a tablespoon of ice cream.  That's all it takes.  I'm still not used to the portion sizes - in my head, I think "that can't possibly be enough."  But it is.
