I am a 35 year old wife and mother of a 14 year old son, a 12 year old son and a 10 year old daughter. I have been over weight most of my life, but I am bigger now than I have ever been. My quality of life is very bad. My situation with losing weight is a lose, lose situation. I can go on a diet and lose a little bit of weight, but because of my disability I am not able to get out and walk or do any kind of real physical activity so it is impossible for me to lose the amount of weight I need to lose. As for my disability, I have severe back pain all the time( I have had 3 major back surgeries), and to top that off I have recently been diagnosed with multiple Sclerosis, and from that I have lost the feeling in my legs so I am unable to walk very much at all. I started my "battle" for WLS 2 years ago and I have been hitting brick walls ever since. I have finally found a Doctor that I really like and I am praying that things are starting to look up for me now.
I finally have some good news, I received my letter of approval on August 12th, all I have to do now is see my pulmonary Doctor on the 29th and then they will schedule my surgery. ( I am hoping to get an appointment sooner with the pulmonary Doctor.)
Today is August 31, 2008, I went to my Pulmonary Doctor on Friday the 29th and had all my PFT's done, The Doctor said all my test were good and he gave me the OK for surgery. They are supposed to fax my report to Dr. Freeman on Tuesday and as soon as Beverly gets the report she will call me to schedule my surgery. I am really praying that they can schedule it really soon. I can't wait !!
