It has been 5 days since by lap rny and I am feeling wonderful; I am still have some pain. On a scale of 1-10 my pain is between 1 and 2. I have not taken pain meds since Sunday night. I also had a VERY small bowel movement today (now that kinda caught me off guard since I am only on the full liquid diet).

Each day has gotten better. I am struggling to get in my liquids and protein. I have noticed each day that I am able to get in more than the previous day. My goal for the full liquids diet is no less than 48oz of liquid and 60g of protein. Yesterday I got in 40oz liquid and 53 g of protein. I think today I will meet my goal. I even walked alittle farther this morning than I have on my other morning walks. I have not had much pain during the day; last night the gas bothered me so bad that I had to take GasX (which did not help). I finally had to give in to taking pain medication which worked like a champ.  

I had a hard time sleeping last night. i thought I would sleep in the bed but I could not get comfortable due to the pain. i ended up sleeping in the recliner (boy did that help). I am doing better today. The gas pressure on my stomach has decreased.  Today is going to be a good day!!!!!

My surgery was completed 4-23-09. Once I had awaken, I was in soooooo much pain. I could not wait for them to give me pain meds. Once they did I was on cloud 90. I arrived home today 4/24/09 and I am reall ysore mainly from the gas. While I was waiting on my husband to get the car, a lady asked me was I in labor LOL. I couldn't help but to laugh (a very little). I told her no that I just had gastric sugery. As much pain as I am in right now, I would do it all over again to achieve my desired end result. I was up and walking yesterday. I went on 6 -20 minute walks yesterday and  5-20 minute walks today. I did not want to stay any longer than I had to. The nurses were really friendly and very helpful but I wanted to come home. I am experiencing a lot of discomfort due to the gas on my stomach. They got me up at 6 am this mon so I could sit up and I have not laid down since. I am going to rest for a moment. Until the next time.....

I start the liquid diet tomorrow. I went to the store today to get the items I will need after my surgery. I can hardly sleep thinking about my surgery. I have also started packing the few items I will need at the hospital.   

My gastric bypass is sceduled for 4-23-09 and I am nervous and excited; more excited!!!
