I am so excited to restart my life. I am 43 yrs. old and have struggled with weight almost most of my life. I have been married for 7 yrs. and have 3 beautiful kids. Brittani 22yrs., Gavin 3.5yrs. and Grant 2yrs. My husband and family are very supportive of this new journey. I have figured out that I am afraid of "finality" so this surgery scares me not for what it will bring, a healthier and better quality of life, but for any illness I may get in the future. Will I be able to take the medication, will I not be able to have a certain procedure because of my RNY...and reality is, I will just have to cross that bridge if and when that day ever comes. Gastric Bypass has been done for 45 yrs. so I am sure the path has been paved for all of us. Even though I have concerns in how I can best use this new tool, I am still very very excited for this new journey and adventure. My surgery date is 7/20/10.
