Scale Hasn't Moved, but...

Feb 15, 2011

That darn scale hasn't moved...but I know things are changing.   My clothes are all dragging on the floor, I'm stepping all over the bottom of my pants.  My waistbands have been getting loose and yesterday my pants were very loose around the stomach.  YEAH!

Went to the gym a couple times last week and bowled on Wednesday.  I've increased my proteins by having 2 shakes, one in the morning and one at night, otherwise I'd never make it.  I still can't seem to get enough fluids in during the day.  I've always struggled with that...never have I been a big drinker of fluids, not even soda.  I try each day, but I've yet to hit 60 oz. of fluid on top of eating.  The hour I wait after I eat doesn't help either.

I feel good overall.  Husband is doing good.  I get surprised by him, he seems to have no restrictions on drinking and last night was his first "mushy meal" which he seemed to have no problems and even ate more than I did by a few bites.

I go for my follow up on Friday.  Need to find out about my stall and need for fiber.

Post Op 1 week

Jan 17, 2011

I'm back at work!  I am feeling good.  No pain meds since Thursday, and I used those to sleep better.  Was released from the hospital on Wednesday.  Had trouble with fluids...getting enough, but now I'm smooth sailing.  I discovered the more I fretted about the fluids the harder it was to get them.  Belly still isn't a fan of cold liquids.

Surgery lasted longer than they had anticipated. I had a hernia removed as well.  I walked the floors of the hospital most of the night on Monday to ease the stomach/gas pains...it worked!

The weight is steadily dropping.  I know it will slow.  I'm just amazed by the number on the scale.  No difference in my clothes, it will happen.

Hubby is close to hitting goal for his pre-surgery weightloss.  He should be scheduling his surgery by tomorrow!  YEAH!  So excited for him.

Pre-Op Diet

Jan 06, 2011

Still working the pre-op diet.  Its amazing how drinking water can change your life!  I never realized that my body was dehydrated.  I have dealt with swelling of my hands, feet and legs for quite a while.  Much to my surprise the past week I have had zero swelling.  During the day I find myself thirsty and craving water.  Who would have ever thought??? Not me!  Over the weekend we were out and about town and I didn't get enough to drink, the next day I had tons of water and was so thirsty.  I could tell my body missed it.

Started walking on the treadmill on Monday and Tuesday and bowled on Wednesday.

My husband has been a great support with me on this...his diet is going well too. He even put on a pair of pants today that he hasn't been able to wear in quite some time!

It hasn't been as hard as I had thought it would be.  I'm ready for my surgery.  I have my stuff together.  I just have to finish out the work week.  My boss at work knows what is going on, but the remainer of the office thinks I'm going on vacation!

Pre-Op Diet

Dec 28, 2010

So today is day 2 of the pre-op diet.    Yesterday was good, had 2 shakes a jello, pice of chicken, green beans and salad and amazingly got in my required fluids.   Weighed in at 305 lbs.

Today isn't so bad.  But I feel gloomy today.  Maybe its the weather.

Told my family over Christmas about the surgery.  Was surprised not one person said anything negative.  Not sure I gave them the opportunity.  Had a few questions, but nothing major.  My mother informed everyone she would be staying with me and my husband for the week.  Bring on the xanax!  I love my mom, but 24/7?  Ah jeezh, I moved out a long time ago.

Tomorrow is my pre-op labs and appointment.  Excited!
