5 Months out

Jan 27, 2011

Hi everyone. Its been a while since Ive written. Although I still come to the site I havent posted that much. Its been a rough couple months. I had my surgery 5 months and 4 days ago and so far my weight loss hasnt been to bad. Ive lost about 75 pounds so far and havent really had much of an issue with food. Ive been away for so long due to things at home. Our car broke down 2 days before Christmas and we were told we needed a new tranny. So we bought a new tranny only to be told its the motor and we couldnt get our money back. So now we've had no car and its been freezing and raining and we have twins toddlers we have been tryning to get around. My son was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis so he gets a lot of chronic lung infections and being out in the cold doesnt help. I think he has caught another one. We got him tested and get the results in a few days. Other than that things are going ok. I have been slipping as far as exersize goes so I got one of those dance dance revolution games with the dance mat. That game is so fun to me and you can definately feel the burn and have fun at the same time. Now my major issue is clothes. Ive beeen taking in my clothes up untill now but you can only do that so many times before they start looking disfigured........lol. Even if Im not posting Im still around and I still am inspired by each and everyone of you. Thank you all for the love and support!!

3 month Update

Nov 23, 2010

Although I still am on the site regularyly, I realize I havent written much on my page. So far I am down 60-62 pounds (depending on which scale Im on...lol). I feel great. Its amazing what weight loss can do for someones body. I feel like a whole new person already. I have a lot more energy, Im sleeping better, and even have less aches and pains. My blood pressure has gone down to the point where I dont need meds (first time in 9 years!). Now with the holidays approaching and twins that will be 2 in January, I need all the extra energy I can get......lol. My doctor had to reschedule my 3 month check up appointment till Dec 3rd. Thats when I will find out how my labs were. I have met some really great people on here and hope I continue to do so. I am so glad I made this choice to have surgery. Its already changed my life for the better. Untill next time.

6 week Post Op

Oct 13, 2010

Hi everybody. I know Ive been MIA for a few weeks. Its been really hard with 4 kids (2 of them 1 year old twins) to get enough free time to get on a computer. I was having an issue with keeping my protein up for a lil while but I fixed that and it helped give me back my energy. I now see how essential it is keeping your vitamins up otherwise you feel like a zombie through out the whole day. I had my 6 week check up last week on the 8th. I lost another 12 pounds which puts me up to 37 pounds lost in this last month and a half. At first I was a little dissapointed because I had lost so much the first 2 weeks but then after looking at the big picture, 37 pounds in a month and a half is great and I should be proud!  Ive already had to give away a few pairs of pants and am wearing pants I wasnt able to fit in a year which is soooo exciting. Its so motivating that my family have all changed their lifestyles right along with me and are eating healthier and even taking family walks with me. Thank you everyone for being so supportive!!

2 Week Post Op Update

Sep 09, 2010

Hi everyone. Just came back from my 2 week post op check up and I lost 25 pounds! I cant believe it. I felt a little change in me but I was thinking more like 10-15 pounds. That was so motivational. I am now back to walking 2 miles a day now that my energy is back. Im so glad all the gas pain is finally done with. We deserve a medal just for enduring that alone........lol. Thank you to everyone who has kept encouraging me and inspiring me. Im not giving up and hopefully by my next appointment in 4 weeks I will be down another 25!!

4 days post op update

Aug 27, 2010

Hi everyone. Thought I would give everyone and update on how I am doing. I had my surgery on the 24th which was 4 days ago. The surgery itself went fine with no complications, although I felt like crap when they first woke me, the worst part was not being able to get to my room for 6 hours because they had no rooms yet available! Unfortunately the beds weren't the most comfortable, and when being stuck in one for 6 hours had my body hurting all over. I begged and pleaded with them to let me get up and walk some but they said I was unable to do that until I was in my own room. I'm the type of person that If I lay or sit in the same spot for a long period of time, that area begins to hurt and my whole body ached far more than the incisions itself. When I was finally able to get to my room, the first thing I did was get up and walk asap to stretch my body. I didn't return back to the bed till that night. Ever since that point I walked for 20 mins at a time every 2 hours. The doctors and nurses were all so amazed at my progressed. Walking helped me far more than any pain medicine they gave me. They let me go home 2 days ago. Since I walked to much in the hospital, I thought I would go walk to pick up my kids from school which is a mile away. That's 2 miles up and back and I dint know what the hell I was thinking...lol. What I failed to think about was although I walked a lot in the hospital, I would stop and rest when ever I felt fatigue. Well the fatigue did hit me, but it hit me once I reached the school and it reached me bad. I barely made it home and have been drained ever since. Not one of my smartest moments.......lol. Ive learned my lesson and will not be trying that again for another week or so. Other than these horrible gas pains, everything else has been going great. My first post op appointment is on the 9th of September. Hopefully things will go well there. Thank you everyone for all the love and support. I couldn't have done it without you.

10 Days to go!!

Aug 13, 2010

I am counting down the days till my surgery! It feels like just yesterday I was getting on the waiting list. I got on the waiting list last November and they scheduled my surgery for August 23rd (10 days away). I feel really excited but at the same time really nervous. I know I'm making the right decision I'm more nervous about opening this new chapter in my life. Is it normal to feel this way? I know one thing for sure, I'm so great full to have come across this site. I'm so inspired by everyone. There is so much support and encouragement here that I already consider it a second home for me. I just hope that one day I can inspire and encourage others the same way you all have done for me!
