Hello Friends from Abington Support Group!

A special hello to Diane and Ginger, fellow DSers who were so kind to introduce me to this site!

If you are an "Abington Graduate" (or even a "soldier-in-training"), please contact me so I can friend you and we can begin a great dialog and friendship.  If you're not from Abington but live close by, I'd like to talk and get to know you, just send me a post.

I am now almost 3 months post-op and down about 40 lbs.  Have quite a time with indigestion, in fact I expected to have more problems earlier rather than now.  I guess because I am now eating everything, some textures are still a problem.  I've noticed that its very important to make sure the food I eat has enough moisture too.  Another group member was kind enough to say that she makes sure everything is served with gravy -- a REALLY great idea I've adopted.  I'm also having a time with the vitamins.  The chewables are unpalatable.  Today I tried the liquid from Celebrate that I actually liked.  I now have to work out a combiantion of this liquid and regular swallowed pills to get all of my requirements.  I've been lax with these vitamins, and now its starting to affect my energy levels.

So I have some work ahead of me!

How did I get to be 150 lbs overweight?  I'm an equal opportunity blamer.  I guess I'll give 50 lbs to two pregnancies, 50 lbs to a 22 year verbally abusive and oppressive marriage, and another 50 lbs to 10 years struggling to establish myself as a single parent and almost empty-nester.  Medicating yourself with food can be both depressive and deadly.

I'm happy to be joining you all on the road to recovery!
