It's over AND beginning!

Got my Band today! Checked in at Stevens hospital this morning at 5:30 a.m. I got a bit anxious when I was wheeled down to the surgery center...in the basement! There were 3 other patients having various other surgeries that morning so we were all wheeled in and lined up. It was an odd feeling plus a little amusing. There we layed, with our little heated blankets, IVs, and gowns that open in the back. I got to wear my socks though!
I was then wheeled into my surgery room and I swear I had no recollection of being in that room for more than 5 minutes. They really work fast that anesthesia guy! I then awoke 1 1/2 hours later in recovery with a nurse sitting with me. I layed there for another 15 minutes and was then transferred to my room upstairs. I was released an hour later. I walked out to my waiting car out front. So at that point, I'm thinking I did pretty good! I think having 2 prior C-Sections enabled me to handle anything. I only have 5 small bandages on my tummy.
I've been resting today, walking around my house a little bit to keep good circulation. My sweet fiance took care of me and gave me my meds and warm chicken broth and iced crystal light. He's at the store right now getting me some sugar-free popsicles and sugar-free pudding for tomorrow.
I really just can't believe it's done. I did it. I'm starting the new wonderment of the rest of my life. I'm sore and I expect tomorrow will bring more soreness but I'm very hopefull I will just move along with a great recovery.
I will post each week to keep everyone posted and plus I don't want to forget any part of this journey and how I've felt through each stage.
Thank you to my new friends who sent me encouraging messages for my big day! I appreciate you so much and what a wonderful feeling to have notes when I check my profile. It's means everything to me.
Off to lay back in the recliner a while, maybe watch some TV before drifting off again.
