I am 10 weeks post op, have gone from 223 lbs to 183 lbs, and I can hardly believe how much energy I have and how well I feel. Surgery itself was pretty uneventful and recovery pretty much a breeze. I was back to work in a week. I am so thankful for this tool and the new life it has given me. It has been so many years since I lost 40 pounds and I can't even describe how excited I am to think that I have the chance to lose 40 more! For the first time in years I like to shop for myself. I am in constant amazement that I can wear a size large top (down from 1x and 2x).

15 weeks post op and at 168. Down 55 lbs and am no longer "obese", I am now "overweight". I am very humbled by this whole experience and I don't take the WLS for granted. I am so very thankful, first to my Lord and Savior Jesus who gave me the courage to do this, then to my family and friends who have supported me during this process. I have had absolutely NO complications so far. I am losing a little more hair than normal and I am trying not to freak out about that. My hair is pretty thick so hopefully I'll be okay. It is really fun seeing people I haven't seen in a while and to see their reaction to the new me. I have even had some family and friends who are now being inspired to loose some weight also and that truly makes me feel good to know that I can have a positive impact on someone else! My blood pressure has improved drastically (I need to see my PCP soon to see if I can get off medication for BP), I no longer have joint pain especially with my back, and I can't wait to find out how my cholestrol is doing. The women at Curves are amazed at my energy level when I work out and to be honest, I am amazed also! My husband is relieved to see me become more healthy and that is a wonderful feeling for me. Even though we are in the holiday season I don't feel deprived by what I can not eat but rather I am amazed at what options I have to replace some of my old favorites with Splenda recipes and fat free options. We live in an amazing time where we can actually have options for lower calorie/fat eating! I have much to be thankful for!

Well I have now gone through 3 entire wardrobes this winter :) !! Started a size 2X in tops and size 18W -20W pants and I am now in a size M top and 12 pants. I walk past the mirror and I have to look twice because I barely recognize this body! I was putting on my makeup the other morning and I realized that I was seeing the person that Jesus has always seen in me and now I see her too! Another profound moment for me was a couple of weeks ago when I was walking into the grocery store and I realized something was different about my walk. Then I realized that as my arms were in sinke with my walk they were touching my hips. Wow, no more flab to hold my arms out like a football player. My surgeon said I would most likely reach a goal weight of 150 with this surgery and I am only 8 pounds away from that. My personal goal is 135 and that is only 23 pounds away and I am almost 5 months post op. I am only 13 pounds away from being in normal BMI range! My busy schedule lately seems to keep me from Curves (I still try to get there 3 x's a week) and I have to constantly remind myself to drink fluids. Hair still falling out some but only noticeable to me.
