Post op

I had the RNY by Dr. White in Nebraska on 1/31/11. I had a pre starting the 10 day liquid diet of 315. After the liquid diet I weighed 195 the day I had surgery. My surgery was laproscopic and with some lysis of adhesions from a hysterectomy in 08 he was done in 1 hr. On day 2 I came off my insulin pump that I had since 1994. I now just take 7 units of Lantus insulin in the morning and that's it. I was in the hospital for 5 days. My BP was elevated and with the combination of a BP patch and manipulation of the vagus nerve in the stomach my heart got the message to go slow. On post op day 3 my heart rate went down to 38 and my level of conciousness with it. Cardiology consult showed all was ok and this would pass. By the next week I was back in the 60's. My family has been very supportive and stayed with me in the hospital.
It is now post op week 3 and I have expanded my diet and gone out to eat with my hubby and daughter. Out to eat I have had tomato basil soup, 1/3 of cheese omlet, and a few bites of moist crabcake. So far my pouch seems to be a happy one and I am down to 280 935 lbs. Still difficult to get all the water in but trying harder every day. Today I did 8 min on the treadmill and will do more tonight to get the exercise thing going on. I feel well and no longer sleep in my recliner but in my own bed again.Life is good and I am already into smaller clothes!
