4 Days Post-Op!!!!!!

Had the Sleeve Gastrectomy done on Monday December 17th!  its been about 7 months since my last post.  I had so many hurdles to jump and so many setbacks that I didnt have it in me to share all of the bad news.  Anyway, I completed my nutrition classes in August and was expecting to have my surgery completed at the end of September.  I was initially denied by my insurance company!! The reason they gave was that they received no documentation to support the fact that I did not have a drug or alcohol addiction!  The surgeon's office had not included my tox screen along with the rest of my paperwork.  I had to write a letter to the insurance company giving my surgeon's office permission to appeal the decision on my behalf then wait what seemed like forever for the insurance co. to overturn their initial decision. So finally on November 29th I got a call from the office that the only available surgery appt they had for the rest of 2018 was on Decemver 17th but they were concerned that it may be too short notice...ABSOLUTELY NOT!  I took the appointment, went to my pre op workshop on December 4th and started my two week liquid diet. Had my final consultation with my surgeon on the 12th, surgery was on the 17th, this past monday and I am doing well!  By the good graces of God I have not had any nausea or vomiting or any kind of upset stomach at all!  I did experience pain in my pouch when swallowing something either too warm or cold so I am letting everything come to room temperature before consuming it.  Since surgery I've had water, jello, tea, ready made protein shake and cream of wheat with 1% milk and protein powder mixed in.  I think im going for some slightly warmed broth this evening to see if my pouch is less sensitive to temperature yet.  Im just going one day at time.  I went in to surgery at 260 lbs.  Im going to weigh myself on Monday the 23rd which will be one week post op!
