I'm almost 70, and need to lose about 85 lbs

I am supposoed to get sugery next week, but I'm really starting to have second thoughts, I'll be 70 in January. I don't know how good my chances are and I really can't imagine how the healing and life span of my life will be effected. I would really appreciate feedback
