1/16/06 - Surgery Date was 11/7/05 - Now 10 weeks out and down 56 lbs.!!! Finally, I feel like this is worth it! I had some rough times at first, but I am feeling good again now. Still have bouts with nausea and vomiting. GAS is a part of every meal (I need to slow down even more). This a total learning experience, and it is a POSITIVE experience.

3/27/06 - I keep saying I will update this profile, and this is the first time since January. Today marks my "20th" week. I am positively thrilled that I have lost 68 lbs so far, but so frustrated that it is ONLY 68 lbs. I had a 5 week plateau in January, and during that time I upped my water intake and increased my exercise with a positive result (started losing again!). I am stuck now at -68 lbs, and this is the point at every previous diet that the losing has stopped. I am so afraid that this losing will stop too! I'm trying to keep a positive attitude and am now exercising 6 days a week! Hopefully, I will have a miracle loss by next Monday morning and I will continue on my journey.

This is definitely not "the easy way out". I have had issues with vomiting and gas and constipation. I swear my husband doesn't want to hear another word about this surgery, but thankfully, he still listens on a daily basis. I am so happy that I had this surgery, I feel SOOOO much better. I am off all my meds (diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, allergy meds, hormones, etc.) with the exception of an anti-depressant and half of an ambien every other night. I am so grateful for that. I am wearing clothes I saved from 1985 again. I'm in an 18 now vs. 26W. What an accomplishment!

If anyone is reading this, all I can say is learn to be patient. I'm not a patient person, I want to see results, and NOW! This surgery has taught me to slow down and SMELL THE ROSES! I appreciate things so much more now!

3/28/06 - Wow, twice in one week! Still trudging along, got to stop grazing!!! Maybe it's spring fever??? I meant to mention the hair loss yesterday when I posted. Does anyone have an opinion on human hair wigs vs. synthetic???

6/2/06 - Down over 85 lbs. now, feeling great. Had gall bladder removed 5/11, back to work on 5/15. Technology is wonderful! This surgery is wonderful. I helped my husband plant his garden last weekend. Bending, stretching, hands in the dirt!!! This was the first time in 33 years. He is amazed at how I have changed in the last year.

7/17/06 - A real WOW moment over the weekend. I had a photo taken side by side with my smallest sister. We were almost compatible in size. I've been the heaviest of 4 of us for years now! (still trying to figure out the pictures....)

8/30/06 - Plateau now for 8 weeks. Frustrated, but determined!!!
