Hello everyone. I'm Diva49 because I won't be Diva50 until October 2012! 
Dr. Stanley Hoehn performed laparoscopic RNY surgery on me on 07/27/2012 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
I decided to have this surgery because I was tired of trying one diet after another. I knew that I needed to try a more aggressive approach to battling my weight control issue. I know that this is just a tool to help me with weight loss, but it's a tool that I wished I had picked up sooner...
That being said, this tool has helped me to get healthier. No more type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or sleep apnea. This tool only works if you use it properly. I don't own a scale. That is one tool that I will never bring into my house. 
So far I have lost 30 lbs. I still have a way to go, but I'm happy with the progress so far. I'm wearing clothes that I haven't worn in years. People are starting to notice. I'm sure the questions are on the way!!! I'm not going to tell anyone about the surgery until I reach my goal weight. Hopefully by then no one will even care and I won't have to answer a bunch of questions like I'm being interrogated.
