Surgery!!

Had surgery 4 days ago, Tuesday, December 8th, 2009.  Was required to stay overnight d/t a clotting disorder I have.  They did ultrasounds of the veins in my legs & a chest xray.  They were gonna put in a filter but didn't because the vascular surgeon thought it would actually cause me more problems in the long run.

Day 1 was rough.  My pain was generally concentrated around my port area. But I was nauseated & had some heaving.  After a medicine change from Zofran to Compazine, I started feeling better.

Day 2 was the drive home from Atlanta (3 1/2 hrs).  The rough roads were few & far between & my husband did a great job at taking care of me.  Once I got home from the ride from Atlanta, I took some more pain & nausea meds, and took a nap!  After that, it's been all uphill from there!!

Started sleeping on my side last night (day 3). I hated sleeping on my back.  Docs told me I couldn't shower until today (Day 4).  That was heaven.

I'm still on full liquids.  Trying not to push it too far too soon.  Looking forward to a new year & a new me!!
