Hello, my name is Dana Whorton,I am 33 years old and I am a mother of 2 wonderful kids.I never thought I would be writing about my story or even about my weight story because I have always been in the back ground wanting no one to know who I am but today is a new day for me.Well here it is,when I was young I was thin and into sports like crazy but I fall in love and had a little girl (she is my life) I gave up everything to be the best mom and wife that I could be to my lilt family .I love being a mom and a wife but I forgot all about me ,Soon I didn't care at all about me,I didn't want to go anywhere that I didn't have to.A few years later my son was born and I was so proud to be a mom again that I put all my love and time into my 2 kids.Well before I had kids I was at 120 pounds and after having kids I was at 260 pounds( please understand that I am not saying my kids did this to me, I did this to me.My kids are my life and I love ever minute with them) plus also I went throw a nasty break up with their dad.I was talking to be my kids asking what they want in life and my daughters told me,just to see me happy.That's when I knew I had to do something.I talk to my doctor about what to do inside and outside to get me on the right track ,She told my about weight lost surgery ,I was little scared about it but I told her that I would go to the meeting and found out more about it.I went to the meeting and talk to many people and talk to my kids,family and read about the gastric bypass surgery,I know that I wanted to do it and I felt good about it but my family did not want me to do it because they were scared for me but they come around.I had my Surgery on March 23,2009 I was 210 pounds and today August 12,2009 I am 154 pounds.I feel So good about myself,I am in the gym 3-5 days a week ,I am running around with my kids and my new honey. I am not saying right after surgery everything was wonderful or easy,you have to but your heart and mind into this and you well have good and bad days but it is all for the best.Thank you for letting me tell my story.
