DogMom1111
Well, my story probably isn't too much different from most. I have 120-140 lbs to lose. I have tried pretty much all avenues of weight loss attempts....WW, JC, NS, Atkins, 17 day diet, Cabbage diet, hCG diet. Nothing has really stuck. My Mom claims that if I just "stick with it" I can do WW. Well, I can't. For some reason I just can't do it! So, at 325 lbs, I am coming out of denial and realizing that surgery is going to have to be my way. I have high cholesterol, early diabetes, aching feet...back...knees, tired, short of breath and just generally have no life. How much further am I going to let it go? Not any further! As of today, 6-21-11, I am brand new to the whole process. This Saturday I attend my first informational seminar on bariatric surgery. I am really looking forward to it. I have some fears about insurance and approval and out of pocket costs. But I do have the support of my Mom ahd hopefully my husband when I tell him....soon. :) So, that's pretty much my story.
UPDATE 9-21-11 I had my surgery on 8-24-11 and am coming up on a month here soon!!! I am feeling better already as far as weight lost. I am down about a clothing size. For me the numbers on the scale don't move as fast as the inches are melting off. I am about to step it up and get into water aerobics classes. I think this is one of the BEST things I ever did for myself. My blood sugar was 112 this morning without being on medication, I am not out of breath with every move, I don't get headaches every other day, I am not as physically uncomfortable. It's just amazing. I didn't have alot of pain or nausea, but am still dealing with fatigue. I also had alot of weakness and a little bit of dizziness in the beginning. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!!!! I was very discouraged when my approval didn't go through right away, but after sending the insurance company more information...I got approved!!!! I feel very blessed with all of this and it's just the beginning!! Now I am working on learning to love exercise!! Good luck to you all. Please feel free to write me if ya like.
