Continueing the Process!

Well, went to my appointments yesterday. It was the second ECHO (Tey will have results when I ga back next Thirsday) and the Psychiatric Evaluation.
All very interesting. So far so good.
Next appointment is with Dr. Shroff, next week Thursday @ 1:00 P.M. I told Dr. Sarah Shelby (she is the Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology that I talked to) that it is getting frustrating, waiting for the surgery date. Other than that, I am ok with it. She asked me questions to see if I knew about the surgery and if I knew what to expect and what not to expect. I had done my research so I knew pretty much everything about it. They had sent me a questionnaire to fill out. I told her that there were some questions on it that were the same but just worded differently. She laughed and said, "They want to see if you are paying attention". Good thing I was! hahaha!
All very interesting. So far so good.

Quitting Smoking plus.....

Ok, I took my first Chantix pill today. My quit date is 10/09/08. The good thing is my son (who is 40 &lives with me with my 15 year old Grandson, Brenden) ) is also quitting! He took his first pill today also. THIS should be very interesting for us both! 
I went to my appointment on 10/30 and talked to the doctor and they also did the first ECHO test and it went fine. They had to put in a IV and give me medication to make my heart go faster (for my age it had to be up to 138). I felt like I had been running like a race horse!
It was interesting to watch my heart beating on the machine!
My next appointment is on 11/14 @ 8:30 A.M. to see the doc for the psychiatric evaluation and for the 2nd ECHO test @ 1:30 P.M.
I finally was able to get 2 of my picture on here! I am trying to figure out how to get the current picture in instead of the little "Dust Bunny" picture!
Will keep updating when I have time and will let you know when I get my surgery date. Like I said before and told the doctor, tomorrow is not soon enough. They asked me if I would be upset if it were before Christmas and I told them that I didn't care if it was the day before!

Well, I Have my appointments! 
I have seen the Pulmonologist and Smoking Cessation Specialists (Yes I am going to quit smoking also! I need to do that!!) The appointment for the Cardiologist is 10/30/08. Another Pulmonary appointment for 11/14/08 for ECHO 2 and for the Psychcological Evaluation the same day.Another one for SMC-PULM Est Visit is for 11/21.
It is getting frustrating but these things have to be done so they know I am ok to go through this surgery, I know this but it is still frustrating...all the WAITING!
Thank God I have my family and friends supporting me, which is wonderful! Your support is also greatly appreciated. ANY time!!!

Starting the process!

Well, I am starting the "process"!
My doctor thinks that the "sleeve gastrectomy" is best for me and I agree.
I have already gone to the University of Illinois Medical Center for the duscussion from Dr. Galvani. I have seen him already and now have my appointments to see the Pulmonologist and Cardiologist. I am waiting for the secretary to call me back so I can set up the appointment for the Psychcological Evaluation.
I have my mind set and ready to go. I have my family and friends supporting me, which is wonderful! Your support is also greatly appreciated. ANY time!!!
