I have been a member for a couple of years, but this is my first posting.  I am having a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) 08/26/09.  I am not a candidate for gastric by-pass due to multiple adhesions on my intestines from synthetic hernia repair mesh wrapping around my intestines.  Gastic banding is also contraindicated for me due to my body rejecting 2 different types of synthetic materials (see synthetic mesh above ) and the risk of the banding material eroding and damaging my stomache.  I have diabetes, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, and borderline blood pressure.  I am going to be a grandma in December :o) so it is time to get healthy.   Thanks for all of the great info and pics on the site.  Post again soon.
