First step on the new path 10-1
Oct 01, 2011
Well I have re-packed my suitcase 8 times (not complusive huh) and checked the weather and the airline. Printed my ticket and gotten everything ready at home so that I will come home to a clean and ordered house.
My dogs know I am leaving - they are clinging to me (and at 90lbs each) it's hard to walk around.
I realized today that I am nervous - not about the surgery - but about it not happening. I lost my band in July 2011 and they could not do the revision at that time due to my stomach condition - so of course that makes me worry more this time.
I have the best doctor in the world and trust him and his staff completely. I know they will do what is right and do a great job! Now it's up to me.
I am going to take pics and post them - even a few videos - hotel, van, OCC ect. So stay tuned folked.

So as I searched the web for information on Gastric Plication, I saw that there were not many active sites and also that one of the best sites (this one) did not have a group for this. So I started this group.
A bit about me...I was banded in 2003 in TJ at 310 lbs and lost down to my goal weight of 145 in about 18 months. Everything was great until about 2 years ago when I started having less restriction and found out that my pouch was dilated. I tried everything, but nothing worked. My doctor suggested revision surgery. I reviewed my choices and decided on Gastric Plication. I didn't want another band (as it's harder and harder to get a fill in the US if you are banded out of country), I didn't want to have part of me removed - so this was the best solution. I know that this is a fairly new procedure. So was the band when I got it in 2003. All results to date have been very positive on this procedure...so time will tell.
I hope to find others researching similar issues and share our journey....
