I am a 37 year old divorced mother of 4 kids that range from 17,15,13,and 9. I just got my AA in science as a Respiratory Therapist. I decided to do this surgery the day I graduated on September 29Th 2009. I took all the steps that needed to be done. Then in New Year Eve they called and said that I was approved for surgery on the 7Th of January. I have Diabetes and Thyroid, High Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Acid Reflex and Sleep Apnea and over all not a health person. I was a walking bomb that could explode in any minute. I am 5 days post op and don't get me wrong it is so hard. I cry at nights because I cant eat. But I rather cry now then having to cry because I have had a leg amputated.
