I will be forty next month Dec. 12 - I was happy that I was able to start my wls surgery before my b/day. That was one of my goals. I have been overweight for most of my adult life, my heaviest this past 2 years. That saying if "I knew then what I know now" is so true- I look back at my teenage years(Yea-that long ago) and look at pictures - I tell myself now, OMG, I was fit- take for granted I am 5'5 now and was 5'5 - 140 #s'in 8th grade. All of my friends then were shorter then me and weighed 80-90#'s maybe 100 on a rainy days. So yea -didn't know then I was OKAY for my size-didn't now then I grew faster than others, It's is so important not to compare yourself to others. I have a 9 year old wonderful son whom is the light of my life. I encourage him not to pay any attention to kids who say mean things. Max's like me guess what taller then his friends and heavier then his friends. But he is so positive about life, that it is incredible. Since my journey started from even pre-op - My Husband and Max are a lot more aware of their eating habits and we as a family are doing more active things now. Which is wonderful!

I cannot express the importance of having someone in your life who loves you for who you are, not what you are. I have known my husband for 24 years. And he has loved when I was (just right) to my heaviest. He is so encouraging in this journey of mine, and tells me everyday that he loves me and he's proud of me. There are no words for that. Only LOVE. Having him in my life makes this so much easier than I thought it would of been. I LOVE YOU ISHI!

My heaviest to date is 319# - Surgery day 288# - Dr's goal is 145# - My 1st personal goal is 160#.

I'll post my pre-measurements later - I can't remember where I put them.
