I had been a skinny minni until I was 33 years old and got sick. between the illness and the meds I was put on for the illness, I had ballooned up 120lbs. This was such a traumatic experience for me. I had never had to diet in my life. I tried every diee and every plan I could for the next 25 years. I went from 128lbs to 252 lbs. When I was in so much pain, couldn't hardly walk and cried every single day, just walking to my car after work, or even walking around Sam's Club. I was so miserable that I even considered taking my own life because I could not live like this anymore. I had 5 grandchildren at the time and couldn't even play with them. Then I became a peer group member for our Bariatric accreditation at the hospital I work for and met Dr. Schoen. I have never looked back. This was an unbelievable re-born and renewal of my life. Dr. Schoen gave me my life back. I will be eternally grateful. Not only Dr. Schoen but the whole team at UCH Hospital. From the Program Director, to the nutritionist to the MAs and the receptionists. All were there to support me. For anyone who thinks this is an easy fix, you are wrong. This surgery is strictly a tool. It is up to you to follow the plan and do the work. I am still loosing a few pounds here and there but pretty much stabilized. If I find myself getting into bad habits again, I just go back to the basics and track what I am eating. I have lost more since my after picture. About 13 lbs extra. I recommend this surgery to anyone who is struggeling to lose weight and has tried everything else. I would do it again if I had to. Could not be happier with my life.
