The begining

So, here I am at the begining of this journey.  I am 5'8" and weigh about 270, bmi is 41.  I just started to looking into the Lapband surgery, and have had a consultation with a MD.  I will not be having them do the surgery as I didn't get the warm and fuzzy from them.  That being said, I did still learn alot of good info.  So here I am...I am pretty sure I know who I would like to do the surgery, but alas I have to wait until I am a perm associate for my company and get insurence.  I am hoping that will be end of this year or early next year.  I hear the benefits are really good.  I am counting on that as I will not be able to afford the surgery otherwise.

I can't believe that I got this big!  Growing up I was a competetive figure skater who on the high end of weight was only 150.  Uggg....But you know how it goes...quite the high intensive sport (along with all the supportive activites ie :gym, cross training etc), go to college, get married, two kids later..and this is what you end up with.  It is still frusterating...I look in the mirror and I see the face of someone else...not sure who though.  

Well I guess this is the start of a new future...you know...when ever I get the surgery!  Will keep you posted.
